Bunnyhopping

Make it stop, it's just silly and it makes the fighting look like a joke.

Make jumping cost stamina, and with a cooldown. If you jump more than every second, stam regen stops like when blocking. It's not really a PROBLEM imho, but it sure is very annoying. I guess no one can say it will ruin their gameplay, because the hitbox is still too big for it to make any real difference(?). I sometimes "bunnyhop", but I only do to able of moving and blocking (almost) at the same time.

i hope one day they add a Really High stamina cost to jumping, to the point that 3 jumps will empty your stamina.
it's ridiculous to see them do it.
how would you feel if someone ran up and punched your car while you were stopped at a red light and then they immediately start jumping 10 foot into the air constantly jumping all around your car and saying things to antagonize insult you insult your mom insult your clothes bait you to fight them while constantly jumping all around. and if you get out of the car to fight them they just keep jumping and Run Away and hide behind tree.
    it's ridiculous.

While it does look ridiculous, @Raudgrani is right.
The hitbox in ESO is large enough that you can still target properly.

I imagine the folks doing it think otherwise since it can grant an advantage in other games, but it doesn't do anything but make them look silly.

That said, no need to add stamina cost to jumping, given that jumping already ignores your toons momentum and if you manage to master the large scale jumps by exploit, there is a built in block if a toon moves too large a distance too quickly.

The best remedy for bunny hoppers in PvP is pretty much any CC ... especially DK Petrify.

Those players have a genuine dislike for taking away their playstyle ... and you’ll accrue plenty of hate tells.

It’s really not a bother in PvE since players are generally helping you achieve your goal.

There is no correlation between 'bunny hopping' and baiting, insulting or antagonizing. Anywhere there is PvP, people will be jumping around to avoid being hit whether it actually helps or not. Many times for these people it's just habit and they will do it unnecessarily in PvE without even realizing it.

A simple, realistic solution (in addition to jumping costing a small amount of stamina):

If you are hit while airborne, you are knocked prone (because realistically, you would be).

Like? Exploit of sorts? Only ones I can really say I do see bounce around like crazy, are magsorcs. Of course there are exceptions, but they are rare. "Bounce, bounce, bounce - streak, bounce, bounce, bounce - streak". They typically don't really fight back all that much either as far as I can tell.

You can have a game with loads of options and choices.

Or you can have a game that does not offend the sensibilities of others by restricting and curtailing player choices.

Thing is, you can't have both in the same game so you have choose. I, for one, chose the former.

Didn't they patch out actual bunnyhopping a patch or two ago? e.g., jumping and sprinting within a certain few frames to gain a distance advantage

Anyhow, jumping while you're fighting can actually be useful because you can block midair without slowing down. Plus, what would an MMO be without jump spamming during a fight?

Hit while airborne results in a knockdown sounds fine.

by all means make the whole game feel bad just to fix the bad melee targeting system.
Bunny hopping is also the wrong term. Its rather just... jumping... and you do it to maintain momentum while panning the camera usually, or just because its an MMO and why not just spam space to fill the empty time with jovial hopping.

I might ask you why care ?

Because making a thread on something so trivial seems silly. If people want to jump around, like they have been for the last six years, than bringing it up to rant about it is just pointless. Your OP has zero substance to make any claim.

I've never had a situation fighting someone that's jumping up and down in ESO where my attacks/skills didn't land... In other games you could mess up the attacker's targeting by doing so. It's simply not the case in ESO.

If this happens there will be complete outrage once the reality sets in. You basically want to remove jumping from the game lol.

They are probably frustrated because they cannot kill the target so they blame the jumping.

As others have said, CC them. But realistically, any trouble you have targeting them they have targeting someone else while jumping so there is not a real need to punish the action. Not that it matters as I doubt Zos will do such a thing as there are other ramifications for doing so.

If you get that annoyed by trash talk, PvP isn't for you. Simple.

Also, of they came up to me and punched my car, they'd be ran over. In my country, that's enough argument for self defense, as long as you don't kill them, and you're in a red light, so they won't die. What I mean is, stop trying to jump after them and go about your day. Bunny Hoppers won't chase you, they are too wired to focus on anyone target.
