I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth the Undaunted event was. I had many fears the EU server would collapse under itself as it happened the last two times, and I have been quite harshly criticizing here in the forums, so it feels only right to praise the team too when they achieve genuine improvement ! You did a great job! Thanks for all your efforts, it looks like it's fruitful! 2020 is starting on a very nice note.

And now I also wish you a great reveal on Thursday. :)

I've had no issues at all getting a dungeon done daily for the event using the activity finder.
Though compared to other events, this had much more rewards available than the duration allowed to earn them all, which is a downside.

Thats because no one wants to do them because of the abysmal drop rates.

Also, the lag has been extra bad as well, but hey, the queue worked, Ill give them that, could queue for battlegrounds all weekend.

Apart from a couple of minor annoyances with the Activity Finder (like having to requeue a couple of time with a full group for it to take) this went very well. It felt like the loading screens were a little longer overall, but that might just have been me being impatient, I didn't actually try to time it. But the server held up, the Activity Finder worked on the whole and I didn't see any lag.
So yeah, this went lot better than I expected.

I felt pretty confident going into the event that ZOS wasn't likely to turn it off like they did last time. Aside from the fact that it would have been very embarrassing and awkward, the announcement for the event definitely made it sound like the events was very much a live test of the changes to the Activity Finder, and that any problems which surfaced would be dealt with as they arose. ZOS must have felt pretty confident about the Activity Finder to have even announced the event at all, and with the thing coming up on Thursday they would certainly want to have a successful "live stress test" of the Activity Finder under their belts going into Thursday's big thing.

EDIT/Addendum: So yes, congratulations are definitely in order. You could tell by the posts in the forum (from ZOS support) that everyone was working hard behind the scenes to ensure that problems were fixed as they were run into, and that the event could be a positive and fun experience for the players. Thank you, everyone at ZOS! This was a great way to start 2020. :)

It wasnt that smooth. Yesterday and Saturday there were many hiccups in the system. Couldn't queue, couldn't leave the queue. Took ages to get into a dungeon. And so on. Praise where is praise due, but we are not there yet. Should have been fixed a long time ago!

Ditto on this. Nice job, ZOS.

FWIW, I was able to earn all of the opal style pages during the event, through trades, purchases/sales from guild traders (5 bought, 2 sold), and two event ticket purchases. It was probably about 20-24 hours of dungeon play over the 5 days (mostly 4 DPS normal FG1 speed runs - opal page drop rates were about 1 in 20, at about 3:30-4 minutes per run). I'd also been farming keys going into the event (so I had over 200 to spend), and had gotten the prerequisite shoulder pages over the past year by farming or purchasing.

So for people who thought it was impossible, it was not, it was just challenging and a bit of a grind. Well within the realm of possibility for anyone who had prepared for the event.

Smoother then before but still issues. Ran into multiple times where it got stuck in ready check and you could not unqueue and requeue. After about 10 minutes it would finally time out or have to log out and back in.

Also for how long we have waited I feel like the drop rate is crap there should be chance to get a weapon for every chest for the small amount of time they gave for this event. Its kind of a slap to the face to make the event so short and the drop rate so crappy and still have issues with the queue. One day ZOS will get it right but it was not this day.

Yes. The apparently fixed group finder gave me a sliver of hope they might be able to fix some of the other perennial bugs in the game....and now I don't know whether to be happy about that, or pissed that I have some hope again almost surely to be let down again in short order....

Had issues Saturday, we was unable to get into dungeon at all with finder with an 3 man group so it only solved itself then we got the 4th and could port.
However has not played much this week because very busy.

I only ran with premades so I can't comment on the LFG component. But queuing with a premade worked smoothly, whereas in the past it didn't. So it's a step in the right direction for sure.

Queue was great, but I have to agree about lag. I was very surprised about the lag in the dungeons. Often I couldn't swap weapons to taunt in a timely manner. Didn't really matter most of the time since normal dungeons are so easy and I was leveling a lower level character (so no possibility of harder dungeons). Still, it is not something I normally experience.

I was really glad that the queue worked. The lag has seemed to have gotten worse throughout the game. I experienced a bit in dungeons and even occasionally in my house. Hopefully they'll find a way to resolve that sooner rather than later.

Now if only they could fix those high HP DK's queuing as DPS (that can't even kill mobs), and fake tanks in vets. That'd be great.

Congrats for what? For managing to keep the server from collapsing once more? Guess we re going to congrats ZOS for doing the obvious from now on...

Also, the drop rates sucked. In the purple boxes, I got 2 x Troll Kings Battle Axe and 2 x Engine Guardian Greatsword thanks to the wonderful RNG. Also, the loot from the blue boxes sucked even more. It wasnt even worth farming them.

I expected it to go down almost instantly, but it went smooth the whole time. It definitely helped that you could earn rewards from just porting right into the dungeon, which may have definitely removed some stress from the finder, but ultimately, I'm pleasantly surprised to see that the event went over smoothly. good job, ZOS. keep it up, please. <3
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

Not so smooth for me and the hubby. Frequent disconnects, NPCs not responding, invisible character, stuck in instances because the door won't work, dying tragic deaths, etc.. all server lag issues. Started with the event and today seems to be gone. Phew... glad it's over!
