- make Crafting Dailies per account so that the RMT bots can't get even richer per day doing writs with Dolgu's Lazy Writ (or maybe even their own custom addon).
- make collecting all your stuff from all your alts (e.g., Hirelings) a one-click process (like collecting daily rewards) that dumps it all in your Crafting Bag. Extra slot or no, this would be an excellent Quality of Life improvement. I'd even trade daily rewards to have it. @ZOS_GinaBruno
This game has been going for years at this point and character slots are getting tight. Can we please get a big slot increase? Even an additional 2 would go a long ways. It doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon either.
We've had two more each expansion haven't we? How many characters does one need lol
Honestly, I'm not sure what other arguments need to be made, though people have made some good ones that I enjoyed reading. Particularly with the implementation of "cold storage" for dormant accounts, they should have the space. And they're going to get money out of us for it. Why not do it?Kingslayer513 wrote: »And what harm is there? It's 2020, data storage is as cheap as it's ever been. There is no good reason NOT to simply increase character cap.

They're going to be splitting the database so that there is less load on the system. They're not going to add new character slots and undo that improvement.

I have read similar in a number of locations.
I think one has to take it at face value that the "millions of accounts" that are dormant, is an issue. Fair enough ZOS.
But personally I cant see why it should be. Its just data, 1s and 0s. Storing that should surely not be an issue for a game and company the size of those behind ESO. Surely games like Call of Duty among many others, actually have far far greater player bases to maintain data records for, but I do not recall similar issues being voiced. The cynic in my jumps to the conclusion that its just cost cutting.
No, they tend to increase it by one so people can do the new intro quest. We got one free and 1-2 more you can buy with Elsweyr because the new necromancer class.
We don't need to justify more slots. We just want more slots.

It takes me around 35-40 mins to log into all 18 when I'm searching for that one piece of gear I picked up while in some dungeon, delve or wherever but forgetting which toon has it (yes, I play all 18 toons). If they were to add another slot or two, I'd be compelled to start another toon and further my dilemma (ha)

inventory insight addon.
I think I like creating characters even more than playing them, so I'm always up for more character slots.

I don't see any need to add more charslots. I also see no harm if they were to do it, but still It's completely unnecessary. At least make an actual good argument why 18 isn't enough.

Their identity revolves around what they do - it is, after all, what we do that defines us, not who we are, yes? Since, unlike other elder scrolls games, this game was built with the concept of classes, which ultimately serve to limit one's capabilities, and since this game's cooperative content usually relies on the restrictive role specialization of "tank, dps, healer" triumvirate, this one would like enough slots to develop distinct identities for each character performing each role with each class. This one is willing to pay for the privilege."
