When to do trials

my cp is about 200 and im currently a tank.
i never went to trials before so walkthroughs are the only thing ive experienced. honestly personally walkthroughs dont help much until you try it out.
i see alot of people finding trial groups in craglorn. will these people take in a newbie as an off tank?
dont want to cause too much trouble in a 12 man dungeon since tank and healers are most essential (well IMO) in pve.

PUG's will probably invite you, but don't expect much explanation let alone patience from them. They're usually just rushing through the trial and don't care about the other players (lootwise etc.), so expect to get kicked if you are spoiling the raid due to lack of knowledge.
The best solution would be joining a guild that does learn raids. It's the safer option and much more relaxed.

You can start with normal trials already.

Craglorn trials (nAA, nHel Ra and nSO) are a good start, but they all are easy enough (Halls of Fabrication is probably the hardest normal trial, but its still relatively easy).

You should be able to do trials. During Witches Festival my guild saw loads of people doing trials like Cloudrest for the first time in all roles with a wide range of CP (mainly 160+).

Your best bet it to find a guild that does regular trials training. They would help you ease into the tanking role in, hopefully, a structured and forgiving environment. It would also help you meet players who want to do trials. You can find guilds’ info in the Guild Finder.

300cp is the minimum imo, since until then you get important bonuses from cp allocation.

for crag, cp160, simply because running any end game content sub cp160 renders your loot garbage. You'll want higher CP for the other trials.

Do not tank trials you have no clue about, just make a dps and run with that until you have understood the mechanics, watch the tank and see how they play, where they are standing, what they are taunting etc. Then you can try imitate that on your tank when you are confident.

LOL yes, also people who leave / DC, remember we did the 3 normal craglorn trials in an row AA latest, it was getting pretty late and nobody wanted to join so we got an low level guild mate to join, he was a bit shell shocked don't think he had done dungeons before

And you run with single healer who fall off the edge fighting the last boss
