PS5 would first have to do very well.

There's nothing to "migrate". PS5 and the Series X will both sell line crazy. What are you people on about?

No announcements have been made but the PS4 version should work as-is, no migration necessary. I personally expect enhanced editions to appear sooner or later as well. Time will tell.

Nothing about the actual game will need to be changed, so the gen shift should happen without an issue. The servers will be there and unless they plan on rebuilding the engine for a graphic overhaul (highly unlikely - at least, any time soon) - so it should be as simple as loading up ESO on the new console and signing in.

Although I do plan on getting next gen as soon as it launches myself, there is always a bit of a delay between launch date and solid title releases to go along with the new hardware. Having ESO come along for the ride, as is, would be just fine and a welcome option right off the bat.

Not sure if you are serious... or if the dry wit isn't carrying over through test (edit = text). Playstation 4 has outsold every other console this generation - hands down. I hardly think Playstation 5 will have any trouble.

It’ll be like switching from a
    PS4 to a PS4 Pro...
    No muss...No fuss
    Redownload and Install
    Enjoy upgraded performance...
Graphics will be clearer but basically the same unless ZoS creates a specific graphic upgrade pack for PS5

Yes, the difference in going from PS pro to PS5 is like going from PS4 to PS pro, only difference is that games had to support PS4 basic even then Pro was out. An PS5 game don't have to support PS4 but will do if PS4 can run it.

I guess ESO will get an minor update with PS5 to use the increased performance. You get better graphic settings on an PS5.

And yes this will be very nice for console players.

Now down the line say in 3-4 years I guess ESO will stop supporting PS4 and Xbox X, kind of like they dropped the 32 bit client on PC but worse as you could just get an new OS on PC.

I guess you could also keep the old PS4 at an secondary location like at your parrents while keeping the PS5 at your dorm at university and play on PS4 then back at them.

Both PlayStation and Xbox is at this time basically pc's with an proprietary OS.

When the PS5 launches this game and all other PS4 mmos will probably follow a similar path that DCUO followed when the PS4 launched and that is players played along side each other on PS3 and PS4. The difference was some improved visuals, improved rendering times, etc... Over time DCUO was limited in what it could do in the game because the PS3 had its limitation. In 2018 or was it 2017 PS3 support for DCUO dropped.

Since PS5 is going to allow players to keep their PS4 library I see no issues with ESO being on the PS5. The only benefit I see for PS5 players is the improvements that hardware can provide until ESO is able to drop the PS4 and improve its software or if it is able to improve the game visuals for PS5 players without dropping PS4 players.

It should be an easy transition given that the hardware and architecture is very similar just updated.

I think we found our time traveler from 1995.

Hey bud, first; welcome to the future! We have flying cars and robots that do all of our chores! I jest of course, cars don't fly!

A lot has happened since you came to this year; as you know the PS1 just came out and has shipped about 100 million units, PS2 was released in 2000 and shipped 150 million units, the PS3 in 2016 and shipped less than a million (womp, womp :( ), and finally the PS4; that was released 2016 and sold 106 million units.

Oh and Microsoft (yeah i know) developed their own console system called the Xbox. It's okay, not nearly as popular as the PS4. If you have any questions, ask away and I'm sure someone will help

Next-gen doesn't determine development. The recommended system requirements do. And those are only going to be slowly and incrementally raised, so PS5 isn't going to usher in new furnishing limits or higher poly count models.

Playing on a machine built in 2020 is going to perform and respond much better. But it's going to be 95% the same game appearance, with that extra 5% coming from how the upgraded graphics render light, shadow, and particle effects on the highest settings. If you don't like how the game fundamentally looks currently, a console swap isn't going to magically change that.

    PS4 Pro launched in 2016.

Hopefully it will be backwards compatible with eso and with the ssd and hardware will improve framerate and load screens and will only be limited by bandwidth and or your internet provider. The new consoles might even be utilized to take some of the stress off of servers such as the constant overwhelming math equations eso has. Even cross-play should be explored to make eso more lively or that might break guilds as there might not be enough vendors. The small cities might have better items with vendors though because of proper population. Ps5 can only make eso better.

Sorry can't help you... I chose smart, I play on PC, the only platform that truly matters.

    Hehe 😏

Lol ps5 and xbox will make PC look like a child's game on an iPad. Keep choosing smart.

You do know that PCs keep advancing too, right?

And that if they did make better textures (or whatever) for the PS5/Xwhatever version, they'd release them on the PC as well?

    So, yeah.

not at al true if you look at their history... they’re releasing the game on Stadia lol.. and they were one of the first developers to support the enhancements of the PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, so they will definitely release a port on the new consoles at some point!
