What are the chances (a stamplar question) ...

So, I have tried to level templars before. They always end up deleted because of jabs.

I simply hate the skill. Its nails on a chalkboard-type hate. It drives me nuts in the same way some cannot handle those who chew noisily.

Its the animation, the sound ... all of it.

Anyways.

The toon was meant to be for BGs/Cyro. It will not be a PVE toon once it gets Undaunted 9 (and it only does dungeons with friends, so, it does not need to be a great PVE toon).

The question is: is jabs so vital to a stamplar that it is critical to any functional PVP buuild?

Is there another way to build without jabs?

Any ideas? If not, I'll just cut my losses with it and delete it.

it definitely is possible to use a stamplar without jabs. flurry is a possibility, along with the psijic spammable. those are viable alternatives but there is no reason not to use jabs because burning light is so strong.

Yeah, that's what concerns me. That the passives of the class are such that jabs makes or breaks a build.

    Thanks.

Check out Kristofer ESO's YouTube channel. His "Ghost" stamplar is his main. He doesn't use Jabs.

Personally I wouldn't pass up Sweeps, but I guess you already know that's what many will say. I have never gotten to grips with stamplar, but find magplar crazy strong in PvE and PvP. That's in part due to the sheer damage and AOE utility of Sweeps / Jabs. I'm not great at vMA, which I run with barely modified PvP builds. New Moon Acolyte + Amber Plasm + Bloodspawn - it sustains with just 1.3K mag regen and has an around 4K buffed Sweeps tooltip. Of all the builds, all the characters and patches over the past two years, nothing has felt stronger and this easily accessible, not even when we had glyphgate. I'm doing AOE with Solar Barrage, Crescent Sweep and Puncturing Sweeps. That's about it.

Sorry, I realise you're a PvPer. I mention vMA, because it's a consistent benchmark that offers a feel for how powerful a build is. I also find vMA builds share similarities with PvP builds. In duelling encounters, I've found magplar strong and feeling tankier than I think my build is, because of the sheer pressure on a high power build. I've always felt stamplars operate on the same principle and are best played super agressively, which I think has something to do with the high tooltip damage of Jabs. Anyway, I'm rambling. Kristofer ESO, for one, is proof you don't have to play stamplar that way.
