If you are looking to get them opal motifs save some time and use event tickets to get the ones you want. Save your gold and time. If farming it's 5 tickets for any of the opal motifs. If your short on tickets its cheaper to buy crowns off someome for tickets due to some of the outrages prices going on for them. If your in need of gold then that's the reason to farm the motifs. Happy Undaunted.

Agreed. I will do one dungeon a day to get a guaranteed motif page. I will spend my tickets (except last 12) on the motif pages I want and sell all my unwanted/duplicates for gold.

The only reason they are so costly was because ZOS aborted the event before the majority of players got the opportunity to farm them. They are going to tank pretty fast.

Priorities may be different. Ingame gold is, in the end, just virtual currency that doesn't really matter. Real-life currency may be exchanged for things like food that you'll have a hard time purchasing with Septims.

So whether you consider 30€ a better price than 500.000 gold, is entirely your own decision.

Also, I already sold the one mask that I managed to get in the 2 hours of the previous event, prices can tank to Hollowjack levels now, please.

You can purchase crowns (have tickets gifted to you) with gold to buy event tickets from reputable sellers like TCE for less than what you would pay for the motifs directly purchasing them with gold

I second this. Even on the short amount of time that the event was on there were so many opal motifs flooding the market. They are not that rare to get.

Hahaha not really true, let me introduce you to real money transfer RMT for short. It's highly bannable but there are people not just in ESO but all games with in game currency that sell it for real money.

Well, a couple of things to consider:

A halfway-decent group can run a vHM dungeon relatively quickly, and guildies have been saying that in general they get one opal mask per run. So the masks will be pretty common; this is already reflected in Illambris mask prices.

Shoulder availability is dependent on the number of undaunted keys people have saved up. A guildie mentioned to me that they had over 600. So shoulder pages may or may not be common, but my gut leans towards common.

HOWEVER, there are 20 different weapon pages to get, and barring people running FG1 time after time after time after time to get opal pages from the regular 1-key boxes (for which guildies have said the droprate is around 2%), each account has only FIVE opportunities to get a weapon page during the event. While pages can be bought using event tickets, the moral of the story is that everyone needs 20 weap pages, but can only pump 5 pages into the overall supply.

Therefore I can see prices of masks/shoulders dropping, but the weapons staying relatively consistent, trending up towards the end of the event as people become more desperate to finish out the pages they're missing.

Those initial prices were really just a hold over from the fact that the event got called off after 4 hours in November. The prices on a lot of the pages I saw in guild traders were already dropping below what you would end up paying to buy 5 tickets from a crown seller for, in the same amount of time today during the event. Now just consider this though, if you plan to wait until the end of the event to buy, and they end up having to turn the event off again.... what are the prices gonna look like then

Crown “Gifting” is just in-house gold selling, but because ZOS gets their cut it’s allowed.

Well, yeah. You could also rob a bank and then buy all the crowns you want.
But I thought it, let's say, unwise to advocate for illegal means to get the stuff. On ZOS' own forums, even. ;D

Buying crowns is legal, yes, but again - then you're basically paying with ingame currency. Which is cheaper - buying from a guild trader, or buying crowns - depends on the item and availability. Until now, there was absolutely no way to get the style pages other than the guild trader, so that drove prices up, of course. It'll balance out soon.

I got three pages by soloing FG1 twice-- once last night, and once this morning. But after today's run I had 10 tickets, so I had to spend them before tomorrow's run.

Even though I'm not into spending gold to apply outfit styles, I previewed all of the pages I didn't have, and ended up choosing the sword and the greatsword. Two of the ones I got in FG1 were shields. I forget what the other one was, possibly one of the staffs/staves.

Considering how short this event is, and how many pages there are, you really do need to focus on getting the specific ones that you're interested in.

I am not saying you re lying, just want to find out what I am doing wrong cause I did like 20 dungeon runs today and got only 3. One from the guaranteed one and 2 mask motifs.

Ehm, buying crowns from players might not be the best tactic. Crown/gold ratio is at least 1/300, which makes 5 tickets at least 375k (or about € 10). The mask pages are selling for much less.

Anyway, good advice for players who haven't noticed the pages are sold at the event merchant!

Here's what I have now:

2 weapon pages, one each from my 2 accounts, from yesterday's runs

Bought the shoulder I wanted most from the vendor

Friend gave me the helm I wanted most because I didn't get a drop, zero helm drops for me yesterday after multiple runs

Other friend gave me a weapon page after the event failed last time

Same other friend was unhappy that we were unhappy and bought me and another friend multiple pages yesterday, so I have 3 more of the weapon pages I wanted (seriously, bless him for being the person that he is)

I honestly don't know. Last night after I ran FG1, I got some sort of message when I opened up my hefty reward box. I forget exactly what it said, but as near as I can recall it was something along the lines of "You won't be able to buy or use such-and-such a style page because you've already received an item in that style," if that makes any sense? Or maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly. I just glanced at the message and then clicked it closed.

Are these the same pages that were supposed to drop during the previous Undaunted event that was cancelled? Because I did get 3 tickets during that event before they turned it off, and I'm pretty sure I did get a page with my reward box back then. So I guess that's probably where the fifth page came from? In fact, now that you've got me thinking about it, that's the only thing that makes sense, since I definitely did get a page back when the Undaunted event was originally scheduled but then was turned off after a few hours due to the issues that the Activity Finder were causing.

Anyway, I'm at the Impresario right now, looking at which pages are in my collections:

Opal Engine Guardian Greatsword (purchased today with 5 tickets)
Opal Ilambris' Shield
Opal Ilambris' Staff

I agree, this event seems to be more about acquiring the style pages you desire rather than being OCD about collecting every single style page. The time the event runs for is a definate indication of this.

The absolute very LAST thing anyone should do is buy tickets with Crowns, and yes buying via Crown Gifting has the exact same result: ZOS sees people spending cash currency because they made the grind so unbearable.

Every page bought with store bought tickets is another thumbs up to these predatory marketing practices.

I was thinking the same thing. I've sold two so far - one for 80k and one for 50k and for me that's a huge amount of gold to get in one week. I could probably have sold them for more but with prices dropping so rapidly I decided to play it safe and went for the lower end of what was listed on TTC.

I hope people buying them now realise they will be cheaper in a few days time, and at least are making an informed choice.

Aren't these same style pages going to be available next undaunted event as well? .....I mean, this is not likely to be our last crack at these style pages. And frankly, there are only a few of them that look even half way normal or cool.
