No one said it was a new thing, I said it was progressively getting worse. As in, it was already god awful, but has gotten more god awful.

99% of those on this thread going off about the rewards also voted the GF would last 2 hours or less. They then hyped the impending doom of the GF for days. They have so much egg on their face they are desperately trying to get this to stick. It's the exact same people. After this they will find something else to complain about. It's all they got.

✭To be fair, my personal expectation of the GF not lasting long had to do with how it was behaving the couple of days prior to the event, it was struggling quite a bit and not popping even fully formed 4 mans into dungeons there for a bit. You can say that we are just complaining for the sake of complaining, and thats fine, believe whatever makes you happy I don't really care since I have no idea who you even are. I'm just not going to blindly look at ZOS with starry eyes and think all is right in the world if I think something doesn't make sense, its just feedback. I'm not trying to be rude, but I have just as much of a right as you do to come here and voice my opinions on things. That's fair and I'm not attacking anyone personally cause I also dont know any of you. I'm stating you guys go from one complaint to the other. I'm stating my opinion based on facts and information on this forum that is all. Nothing personal purely my opinion.
Dont take it personal that I think if the GF would have went to hell you and rest here would be on that thread complaining. But since it didnt you are now here. After this event the same ones will find something else.
Again nothing i say is a personal attack. I strongly believe those who bounce from complaint to complaint and demand anyone who disagrees leave or be called white knights are toxic and do nothing to support the game or make improvements.

I got a survey in each of my normal boxes yesterday - plus one in the hefty box to go with the opal style page. Woo? I've got surveys galore because I do crafting writs. And surveys - I've got tons of those still left from farming dragons.
How about the rewards AT LEAST contain things related to the Undaunted (crystals, keys, plunder, motif pages) and not things that you can easily get elsewhere. Outside of the opal page (which I sold) there wasn't anything I got for doing dungeons yesterday (outside of the usual loot you get from the dungeons and from completing pledges) that I couldn't have gotten doing crafting dailies. Well, there's also the tickets, but since I'm not interested in any more indriks or the opal pages, there isn't anything for me to use them on at the moment.

Other games' yearly events don't decrease the rewards given. It either stays the same and they offer the same each year, or they offer the same as the last year's events + new year event rewards.
This is the only one I'm aware of where the "yearly event" is dropping less and less loot.
Perhaps it is bugged - but the undaunted box-events WERE dropping 3-4-5 random things each time last two events (last two undaunted events). Even if it was 3 pieces of crap, it was still more than a single item in a box.
This "one thing in a box" is either a bug or a stealth nerf to the rewards. Because no, every other Undaunted event in the last couple of years had multiple drops in each box.
I dont even mean "Motif page" drop rate going down or not - the ones tied to the tickets/crown store. Yes they are suppose to be more rare than the other rewards. I'll buy that and maybe chalk up "nothing in 100 runs" to bad luck on the RNG cuz RNG is RNG.
I mean ANY REWARD from the box. Cuz why I buy the logic of, "the motifs are suppose to be rare" I don't buy the, "Well they decided 25 transmute crystals, a tier 10 crafting resource, and a treasure map was just giving too much away so now you get a single map."
No. They're either purposefully making this less rewarding for no other reason than hoping it makes people spend more money - or its a bug. But it isn't, "You should be happy to get a single crystal cuz that's how this works."
No. That's the point. That is NOT how THIS game has worked with these event boxes in the last two years. That's NOT how the event boxes worked at the last 2 Undaunted events (I was definitely in both of those, can't speak about the rest). Which is WHY its so noticeable.

I agree with this 100%. The rewards have been nerfed from what they have been the previous years - and no, I'm not talking about the opal style pages. Those are irrelevant. Specifically the issue is the blue undaunted boxes, the 1 single (usually trash) reward inside, and how this was not the norm for this game last year.

✭✭Lol - people love throwing around that word, don't they - entitlement. Entitlement is saying you should just get things, for doing nothing - no other reason than that you exist.
What many of us are trying to say, amidst all the noise, name-calling, and trolling, is that these rewards for this event are lackluster. I think ZOS needs to hear that. If players are saying that these rewards aren't enough for them to participate in this event other than the one run to get their tickets and opal page, then I think it's something ZOS should address in the future.
I guess some people just like free stuff, no matter what it is, and will take it regardless of whether they actually want it just because it's free, and say that everyone should just be grateful for this free whatever crap it is and not say that it could be better.
No, ZOS don't have to give us any rewards at all. But ZOS has chosen to do events and offer rewards. That's their choice. What we are saying is that these rewards are lackluster. I suggest that in future, if they really want to have players participate more fully in this event (or any event), especially if it's one that they're wanting to stress test some system, then the rewards should be rewarding.
Now, what I'm talking about in terms of improving the rewards is simply that each box have 2 guaranteed items. The first could be Undaunted related and either a crystal, key, or plunder. Then, the second item could be a map, survey, repair kit, etc. with a motif page as a rarer reward in that slot. Then, the still ultra-rare (it seems) chance of an opal style page.
I had thought that I was going to do a fair number of runs during the weekend, but based on what I've gotten so far, I'll just be running one dungeon for the tickets and opal page. It is what it is, but I think trying to squelch this kind of feedback that ZOS should hear by labeling it as entitlement is non-constructive. If you feel that the rewards are satisfying and you'll be running lots of dungeons for treasure maps and crafting surveys, then great - say so. But don't just bash everyone who feels differently.
