Sounds like a too lazy to grind problem. I'm always curious what CP rank the folks that call for it to be done away with are.

    My guess is they're <300.

Im cp 1300 ish. And non cp pvp performs better and has far less obnoxious tank builds than cp.

Performance NEEDS to be fixed. If doing away with cp is the cost, so be it.

Except there is no proof that CP causes huge performance issues. They tested whether the CP system had an effect. We experienced the same lag on a full campaign and in big battles regardless of whether it was CP or no CP.

No CP has less people in it so of course it performs better. The unlocked CP campaign runs even better because there is even less people there. The problem is, half empty campaigns are boring

Nope. You have to fix a lot of other problems. Healing and tankiness are a big issue right now. Paired with CP its stupid easy to build unkillable survival. It's to the point dots create no pressure, and burst is the real focus. In noncp, dots always pressure your resources. Resources are limited in noncp. Resources are near limitless in cp. I've played the entire patch without a single piece of sustain or survival in my builds. CP covers everything you need. Building into it further just fortifies strong sets to the point of 'well how many people can I tank endlessly now?'

Making pvp non-cp would also be massively convenient. Having to respect cp every time is a pain in the arse if you do pvp and pve. Just sticking on some pvp gear, changing some skills and jumping into a well populated instance of cyrodiil which isn't faction locked and ful of permablockers would be bliss.

Morphs should be free to change too, or at least put a shrine in the alliance camps.

No keep cp, make it easier to get to cap. cp should be part of your build and strategy.

i love my CP build but you have to admit that cp need to nerf, both in pvp and pve.

In pvp because it allow people to deal a stupid amount of damage, or be tanky as hell, some fight are just so slow, one dude not moving and an other bringing hell fire to him :')

in pve, because in my opinion that is why 95% of the content can be done without healer. Some HM are even easier without a healer...What is sad in this game is that the solution to everything is more fire power xD

And dont start with *wine wine stop asking for nerf pve*, main healer pve for 6 years here except in trial im completely useless : a 3rd dps can bring much more utility to the group than the buff and the dps that i can provide as a healer (even with a semi healer/dd build)

i would to see more phase like Cloudrest Zmaja finale phase in the game, like that you can still provide buff, ressources, decent amount of dps but have to be able to manage a decent amount of heal output.

CP as they are right now are terrible for PvP,people have to much of everything sustain/damage/defense.

I see a lot of "let me play as i want go play nocp" ignoring the fact that if something get changed because of cp(be it PvE/P CP) people in nocp are the one who is going to suffer.
(Also nocp might be dead on console on pc is doing more than fine)

Not to mention as other said nocp is easier or atleast the closer one to balance and another plus it's accessible to all people low/high cp.

That said,in a game where level cap do not increase with every expansion there is still need of a system to give a feeling of a progression or many people would lose interest i guess.
Hopefully we get an update soon on the new system.

Been saying the same thing forever, no-Cp is miles better.

The amount of "OP" CP players you fight that turn into tank/healer and focus on staying alive is a joke, the same guys get straight bodied in No-CP because they don't know what they're doing when there's limits and choices to make.

People need to escape that Bear Grylls, survival expert mentality; nobody is impressed.

I tried taking a resource in No CP Cyrodiil before. The guards absolutely wrecked me. CP is a crutch? Yes it is, one I'd fight tooth and nail to keep. Unless they do a massive rework with their plans. I don't mind losing CP, I just mind it if I go from being decent to giving tickles.

This is unfortunately the general mindset.

But you've glossed over the fact that people wouldn't be on unkillable builds, with the mitigation and heals they have. They may have one or the other (to a degree on scale with your lower damage) but if you're not tickling now, you won't be then and chances are, if you are tickling, you're being tickled.

Also, everything in Cyro and IC is balanced around the CP campaign - Bosses in IC etc don't have any less health so they'd have to make minor adjustments to things like that and before you know it you'd be able to cap a resource if you can't already.

They should keep both and add some goodies to No CP battlespirit to attract more ppl (looking at PC NA and Console No CP campaigns):

    - give No CP a nerfed version of the unchained passive (current 4,9k base break free cost is too high imo)
    - slightly buff non sorc shields (I mean a 6,5k shield for having 42k max mag and 24k health can be a bit meh)
    - etc.

..and No CP on PC EU is crowded... sometimes lagging almost as bad as the CP campaign from 20:00 - 23:00 CET.

They nerfed dots, they nerfed defiles, they nerfed bleeds, they nerfed oblivion damage.

They buffed heals when they overtuned DOTs (before nerfing DOTs into the ground). They left the heals, nerfed the DOTs. Cp is not the reason folks are running so tanky in cp campaigns.

Now you want to nerf builds by removing cp? Much of the buffs you get from cp are percentage based therefore multiplicative. Diminishing returns and all. The more you add in one area the less it does.

ZOS screwed the pooch with respect to balance thereby creating tank meta. They overtuned DOTs and created DOT meta. They screwed up DW and created Glyph Meta. They overtuned oblivion damage and had SLOADS.

I’d say ZOS has a bigger problem balancing the game in general which has nothing to do with cp at all. They just don’t balance well. I’d guess it’s because they really don’t play the game. They read the forums and in house test with mediocre testers lol.

I play both and I think they both have pros and cons, but one thing I prefer is the larger resource pools in cp. I can do without all the cp bonuses if they were to remove or replace cp but I'd prefer to keep the increase to max resources.

If that was the case, everyone would be in the non-CP campaign, and they'd have shut down everything else long since.

The tank meta in cp campaign is even more ridiculously imbalanced than the dot fiasco was, which is alienating players again.

But when all's said and done choice is key.

And there's a perfectly good no-cp campaign, so why criticise or play in the cp version when you don't have to ?

Easy for you to say when you have a full group with healers following you 24/7. No-CP is absolutely terrible for solo player/2man and not everyone wants to be in a zerg to be successful.

For all the experts who can't see past their own nose. It's not about not being able to kill anyone or l2p issues or anyone trying to force anything on you or taking away ur choice or whatever.

It's about the simple fact that PVP can't be balanced around both CP and No-Cp. It just won't happen. One of them has to go. With the current iteration of Cp, the easier solution is no-Cp because with CP, PVP is essentially going to be unplayable for anyone who isnt at or close to CP cap and
they'd have to create a new battle leveling system to scale low CP players to max CP.

No it isn't. I play mostly during prime time on EU, and often solo or with 1/2 other players. There is small scale there if you know where to look, and it can be pretty damn fun. When you want to, you can avoid the zergs & ball groups. Or delay an attack on a keep until reinforcements arrive. And there's some tower warriors who like to 1/2vs x and can do quite well, especially against pugs.

The guy you quoted summarised why bad players don't want this.

He can't play solo or 2 man with no CP, against other players, who also have no CP; The choices you have to make are too difficult for these people and that's why there's always fight back on this topic, because the majority are secretly incapable and scared of adjusting as to not be carried 24/7

Zos is doing something much less convenient but hopefully much better for the game as a whole. They are reviewing CP for making changes. Considering they are not doing the rush job they did when designing and implementing the original CP we can hope they think it through a little better this time.

The best solution for PVP is no CP, no set bonuses, no variations in equipment, no Mundus stones, no stat choices except 64 STA, HEA, or MAG, and a fixed set of skills assigned based on your class & one stat choice. Then it's a perfectly fair MOBA. You go into Cyrodil, play the MOBA with a character sorta like yours, come out and play ESO.

    /s but not really.

It shouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility in 2020 to better balance the 2 formats.

There have been periods when there was a better balance overall but continual, radical and sometimes farcical changes over the last 18 months have caused the regression to what we have to put up with today.

Lets hope that the CP system change is positive, desirable and fun :)

Who worked hard for their CP? Running loops round sewers/skyreach was not hard work and it's certainly not hard work anymore with training gear, 150% pots, empty grind spots, enhanced gains etc.

Also, nowhere in the OP's post did it say they didn't have max CP and like most people on this forum, they've probably been capped for years.

You shouldn't try to limit pvp play for other people. If you don't enjoy the cp pvp, simply don't play it.

CP is a crutch for far too many players. I enjoy both but no cp is more balanced its about sets and skills not buffing yourself with a bunch of passives and extra stats. Things actually die and don't get carried by CP its the way PvP should be and the way it was before they brought in CP.

So we can also say CP is a crutch as well for pve players then.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

We have had this discussion over and over again. We worked hard for our CP. Go grind CP if you don’t like it!

I worked hard for my CP. I have over 1300 and have played since the game was released. I have not run around in circles in skyreach or any of that. That to me is plain boring. I do not want to lose my CP. If I wanted to play no CP, I would do BG’s or play in the non CP campaign.

All max level PvP should be CP

    NO CP should be 1-49

I mean that’s just it in a nutshell. No Cp is for non max level players. You play it when you hit level 50. You play it until you’re near max cp.

You HAVE to play it in BGs because nerflings whined about getting wrecked when BGs had cp.

It’s like cp160 and gear. Your build ain’t running at its max potential until you’re running cp160 gear. Your build ain’t fully maxed out until you’re max cp. Cp is just another aspect of your build. Utilize it. If you don’t (or can’t and ZOS ain’t helping with its poor balancing in general) it’s on you. More nerfs are not the answer. And believe me, removing all cp is a nerf.

Seeing how low population in Cyrodill have gotten I wouldn't mind if they would just shut down Cyrodill for some period of time and try to completly rewrite/redesign it. Funny thing is that it wouldnt even affect playerbase numbers because as it is right now maybe 1% of people who log in monthly visits Cyrodill. For example on PC EU which possibly have the most populated Cyrodill it's ~1k people per month visiting it.

If it can't be balanced around both then it should be obvious to everyone that they should get rid of the LEAST popular mode (no-CP) and just balance around the MOST popular (CP) because that is what the MAJORITY of the playerbase has clearly chosen
