FOR THE LOVE OF DIVINES, is there a way to whisper people in offline mode back?!?!?!

Or an addon, or some sort of hack... for the love of everything that is holy, i am so frustrated when my friends set their social status to offline, ask me questions or try to talk to me, but I CANNOT RESPOND OR EVEN SEND THEM A MAIL, WHEN THEIR INBOX IS FULL.

Who thought this up?! When you whisper someone, they should be able to respond to you, regardless of online/offline/busy etc. Just like in every other game with such options.

What the hell ZOS?! This is so frustratingly annoying! I'm about to start pulling my hair out! Gahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!

Agree, this is really stupid design. At the very least offline people shouldn't be able to send outgoing messages.

If I'm in a guild with them (true for most of the people on my friends list) then i remind them they're in offline mode that way. Discord DMs work in some cases also. Not much but it's all I have.

Tell them to STOP whispering you when they're in offline mode as it annoys everyone , and they're being dumb.
Also keep inviting them to group, maybe they will get the hint.

    Sadly, no.

As you've discovered, if they are offline and their inbox is full, you don't have much to work with to reply back.

However, you could also go offline, so that they can't annoy you further. Or if you're trying to get their attention, blink online and offline until they get the hint.

If their forum handle matches their game handle, you could also send a forum message.

this is why I ignore everyone and have my chat boxes hidden or turned off and just play the offline mode of regular elder scrolls games.

the online mode for elder scrolls is just too damn social.

    everyone needs to just shhhhhh.

Eh, probably not BF.... but at least I'm not totally opposed to your whole thing any more.... I do have to say I've had various instances of "ROFL" at some of your replies in threads though.

The only 2 ways to get the attention of a friend offline with a full mailbox when you are certain they are on is

    1. If they are in a guild you are also in you can call them out on it in guild till they respond.

    2. Contact them on discord, fb, steam, ps4 friends network, whatever the xbox one is or other platform depending on the format if you have their info.

Im not online at the moment to test it, but maybe you could send them a group invite if they arent in a group and use group chat. Or maybe gift them a super cheap crown store furnishing and leave a message in the gift claim notification. A spoon furnishing is about 5 crowns.

If someone doesn't have the time to be online when chatting in game, simply don't have time for them. They will either figure it out or go away.

If you dont respond to hate whispers and tbags, their efforts are worthless and you are already winning possible argument by not getting into.

Fixed that for you. Most people I encounter in offline mode are those that rage whisper all the time and don't want to get any answer.

It’s your friends who ask you questions but don’t allow you to respond who need to adapt, not the system.

It’s simple. If I don’t want to receive whispers I set my status to offline. There are many good reasons that this functionality exists. I should have the absolute right and ability to choose to not receive whispers.

If I then decide I want some advice from you, it’s up to me to change my status and enable you to contact me.

If I don’t do that, and you can’t respond to me, it’s my problem, not yours, not the games.

I get how frustrating it might be for someone trying to be helpful, but it’s not the game’s issue here.

They may be super lovely (as I’m sure they are), but at one point they must have set themselves to be offline as the default is to be online.

Again, it’s not the game’s issue, it’s the players’

I have the issue of ‘not actually looking at chat while I am in a dungeon’ ... which really annoys some of my friends when I don’t respond to them. That’s not the game’s issue either.
