What gives with the ULTRA-STINGY reward boxes zos??

When you said we could get undaunted plunder, riding lessons, repair kits, and transmute crystals in the normal rewards boxes I m pretty certain NO ONE thought you literally mean _A_ transmute Crystal, _A_ gladiator proof, _A_ riding lesson...... you made us wait for MONTHS on this event because you couldn't get the finder working.... and we are now getting ONE item per box??? Are you for real? Where is the incentive there to keep doing the dungeons after the 1st one of the day? Or was this your ploy to keep the finder from getting overloaded? Because the rewards are only worth doing the one unless you want to grind for a mask page drop? Undaunted rewards have never been stellar but a SINLGE transmute crystal???? come on now.... we deserve a little better than that don't you think?

I know this event is only a stress test for the 'new group finder' but wouldn't a longer period give better data for them to work with?

I'm honestly ok with the 5 days. i think it was only going to be like 3 or 4 to begin with. I'm just really bummed out on how empty the boxes are. that can't possible help with data collection either. no real incentive to keep running the dungeons with mostly empty boxes.

Yeah, the rewards in prior years were much better: motifs, plus a plunder each time, plus maybe a crystal or a key. And really lucky players could get a mount or a pet or a costume. There were even a few houses that were ultra rare.

The rewards for the current iteration are pretty crap in comparison.

Exactly. like, even if they wanted to keep things smaller... a motif, a single key and a 5 crystal geode IN THE SAME BOX at least would look soooooo much better than this crud

Agreed OP. I mean, we already earn a TINY percentage of pets and mounts in the game so what makes us all think that they will do anything different with the rest? One of my BIGGEST gripes with ESO (aside from performance/bugs) is the actual in-game earnable content when it comes to cosmetics. Literally, the only thing worth earning in this game is gear from dungeons/trials but it gets boring pretty quick. I also find it odd that they just give you pets when you first enter some zones---why not have an ACTUAL quest to earn it? Makes no sense. IMHO, the whole point of playing a game is to feel rewarded for what you do, and for me, that's what keeps me coming back. ESO is severely lacking in the earnable content area and it's not like they can't balance monetary cosmetics vs earnable cosmetics. They could also make crown gems earnable through content to. I've been playing Destiny2 quite a bit lately, and even being a free to play game you can earn in-game currency that works in their cash shop and you actually earn some really cool things in the game instead of having the storefront constantly pushed in your face. I doubt this EVER changes in ESO. It's sad really considering what this game could be with some changes to it's core.

As for the bees, that sounds like a cool idea for an earnable pet...yeah...I'd rather have the bees instead

The boxes for the dragonguard event (and if I rmember correctly the elsweyr event) were the same way. I think that's just the new pattern. Less reward and more grinding.

It's sad.

I agree with your sentiments OP. Additionally, although I realize this is a stress test, I wish the event lasted longer than 5 days so that it would be possible to obtain more of the motifs. I'm not sure which pieces I want to spend event tickets on, and which pieces will end up dropping for me, and if I'll get doubles...if the event was longer, I wouldn't be so concerned. But ah well.

I still cannot help but chuckle a bit that ESO is essentially still in BETA testing 5+ years in. Well, at least we are the glorified cash spending social experiment right?

3 transmute crystals, 1 woodworking survey, 2k gold. 6 boxes. Hmm. If i weren't doing random normals for lvling anyway i probably wouldn't get out of my way for it.

Maybe it is part of their plan to keep dungeon finder not overflowing?

In ref to the stress test, One would think that they would want to give halfway decent rewards in the boxes to incentives us into sticking around the queue longer than it takes to do our first dungeon. Because i guarantee a solid 75% or higher of us are not repeat random queuing for vet HM runs to farm those helm pages lol.

If the event was any longer though, you'd have a LOT of VERY upset folks that bought these monster weapon styles in the crown store when they came through. these opal ones have the same super cool effects on them PLUS opalescent coloring. so i get keeping it short enough that the market isn't flooded.

I really do wish these boxes were better. A single measly item is just so lame, especially if it's something like a treasure map. Could at least make them drop from all dungeon bosses instead of just the final one if they're going to be this crappy.

The one undaunted box I got contained less of value than what I typically get from killing a single dragon. Granted, it’s a tiny sample size, but it doesn’t seem like event-worthy loot to me.

When I opened that box this morning and saw the single, sad transmute crystal, I literally laughed out loud. Fortunately for me, it would have been nice to get a real reward, but I don't care that much about most of the other rewards mentioned in the announcement article. I mean, there's nothing I can't live without.

However, I feel genuinely bad for the people who've been waiting for this event for ages. And it is a little insulting, really.

God, I thought this thread was going to be about... well, basically any daily in the game.

I really am losing my enthusiasm for the game lately, and it's not the technical issues or the godawful combat changes that's sapping my will to play. It's the garbage drop rates on everything. It just feels like disrespect it's so bad at this point.

So color me unshocked that the Undaunted reward boxes are crap. Of course they are. ZOS is married to the idea of horrid drop rates and crappy RNG-based rewards. It's a thing you do when you are bad,. It's a thing you avoid when you are good. And they can't not do it. It's getting harder and harder to look past the simple fact that ZOS is fundamentally incapable of NOT doing a thing that good designers wouldn't do.

The blue boxes are terrible. I just got a single transmute crystal.

Purple one was OK though with the style page.
