Why do some jewelry pieces not show up for dismantling?

I have about 25 rings and necklaces in my inventory, when when I go to the dismantle menu, only 2 of them show up. The others are there when I go to the Improvement menu. None of them are locked. Any ideas?

It should say at the very bottom of the jewelry tooltip something like, "This item cannot be deconstructed."
As
@Alienoutlaw
stated, all jewelry that existed in the game prior to the release of Summerset falls into this category.

Also, the Exemplary pieces intended to be used to research traits can not be deconstructed.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

It was to stop people stockpiling jewelry before they added the Jewelry skill line and maxing it day 1.
