They gave everyone who wanted it, the Impercial City DLC

Now that i want to gift the 4 dlc pack to a friend, i cant because they have Imperial City DLC, so the discounted price of 4k crowns for the 4 pack cant be gifted to them....

I have sent multiple support tickets as has my friend and we have gotten NO resolution

To buy the other 3 dlc's in the 4 dlc pack costs 7k crowns to buy them separately

Can't get ZOS to remove Imperal City from their purchases either...

ok so due to the responses i got below i concede it is merely poor planning on their part... thoughtlessness is most likely the culprit here.

But iut's been 4 days with no response

Ok so i see ESO store and account is maintinence today until 4pm est us so maybe they are doing a massive overhaul to fix it

if that is so then TY ZOS. Sorry for being rude.

Multiple support tickets does tend to foul up the system. I'd let them respond and then keep pressing. The logical thing for them to do would be for Support to gift the 3 DLC for the price of the bundle.

And to fix the bundle/offer the three DLC option separately.

This is clearly wrong, stupid and a massive own goal on ZOS’s part. They clearly didn’t think about this as a potential use case scenario and they should rectify it ASAP.

That said, it’s much more likely to be a result of a crappy system and low grade planning than any conspiracy (no thought that someone might want to gift a package, parts of which the recipient might already own, or that someone who originally bought, say, Thieves Guild, might want to take advantage of a package deal that included that DLC too).

The upshot is that someone will miss out on the packaged content, while ZOS will miss out on your money.

Not the first time ZOS will have cut off their noses...

Let’s hope they recognise the idiocy of this situation and sort you and your friend out.

This is odd. I know I have gifted tons of content to my wife that I already owned including the Same pack you are talking about.

This was long ago however so maybe something has changed. Either way good luck.

Gifting is not a problem if you (the person sending the gift) already own the thing you are gifting but rather if the person recieving the gift already owns it/part of it. Say the person owns the Dark Brotherhood DLC and you try to gift them the 4DLC pack wich includes it, the game will not allow you to gift that 4DLC pack since the reciever of the gift already owns part of it.

Whenever I've bought something that I already owned part of-- specifically, collector's editions of DLCs, when I already had the DLC as part of the Guilds & Glory bundle-- I got a warning that I already owned part of the content and that my price would not be discounted. What's the exact message? Is it telling you that an on-sale price won't apply, or that the discounted price won't be further discounted to account for the already-owned content, or what?

no i get no such messgae. it fotrbids me to gift it. the exact message is irelevant. they refuse to allow it to be gifted. period..

This is an issue known to the forums since Zos essentially gave us IC. It does not make sense they are not giving us the other three or have not modified the 4 DLC package but it is what it is.

As others have said, opening multiple ticket will slow down the process for you. Also, when they do reply to your ticket you need to make sure you reply back within the time frame stated on all CS responses or the ticket will be closed. Often the first response is a bot.

Just wanted to let you all know that we are working on getting this fixed so you can gift the DLC pack if the receiving player already has one of the DLCs (or any sort of bundle-gift if the other player already has a portion of it).

    That's excellent news!

In the meantime, would you advise interested players to see if Support can gift the remaining bundle pieces (such as the 3 DLC) for the price of the bundle? Or is it expected to be a quick enough fix that players who wanted to gift Guilds&Glory should be patient?

    Thank you.

I bet this is on top of the priority list and the mail send to devs have "**!!!ASAP!!!** - Important!" in subject, since, after all, it is a crown store issue.

    The rest can wait.

Yeah, I've run into similar things in other games' cash shops. Like Star Trek Online, there's some special bundles that you can't get if you already own one ship that's in the pack. And it's not an 'underhanded' way to get people to buy things separately, there's unique stuff in the bundles you can't get in any other way.

You realize that the crown store is on it's own server (it's accessible via web, it's cross-server, it can be down without the game being down, etc), it's just a set of commerce software (something that's well understood by companies everywhere), and the programmers who deal with supporting that likely wouldn't be any help to the ones working on the actual MMO, right?

Even without tinfoil hat "they're trying to take my $!" thinking, it's quite understandable that work on the crown store would happen relatively quickly.

Yeah, good luck with your "sense" while they sell you all kind of junk when in the same time the game is heavily under-performing in critical aspects.

Of course this is great news but the fact that the OP didn't get a response to their ticket and basically had to resort to posting on the forums is also an important issue. We see it from time to time and obviously there are the posts we don't see because they get deleted for discussing what CS did to them and they get silence trying to resolve CS mistakes.

Also it's ridicelous that you dont receive a discount if you already partly own some of the dlc's in a bundle. I would have probably bought a bundle but I'm not going to pay a full price for one if I have already partly own one (and have spent crowns on it). So stupid .. see how it's done on Steam.

This is very reassuring! I do a lot of crown gifting brokering services to help with safe trades between players and I run into these types of issues often. The Guilds and glory 4-DLC pack problem has been particularly common lately. The Collector Edition upgrades and Start Pack, Adept type items preclude successful gifting trades periodically, to the equal frustration to all parties involved.

Gina did not suggest it would be fixed in the update today. Gina did not suggest any ETA and that was probably intentional.

That is not why I came back to this thread. I was going to suggest editing the title since Zos has acknowledged the issue and it is not really underhanded by any stretch. Hopefully they will have it fixed soon.

I actually didn't mind too terribly that the prices of the collector's editions I was buying weren't prorated to account for the fact that I already owned the DLC, because I was buying them on sale during the celebratory events for those zones, and the price of each collector's edition was still less than the cost of buying the extra content (mount, pet, etc.) as separate items. But of course it would have been awesome if the prices had been prorated.

Hi... don't wish to be a post-necro'er, but this issue is still relevant.
A friend just tried to gift me the ARAA bundle and apparently got an error because I own Any Race, Any Alliance itself. (I must've gotten it forever ago, I don't remember how.) It is the only thing in the bundle I own, so there should be no issue.. unless the bug in this code is still unfixed. Which, it is.
I really hate to trouble anyone, but I wanted to bring it up again. :s Good luck in fixing whatever the bug is!
