About the Charged weapon trait....

What does it do exactly in One Hand & Shield weapon? I understand that if you use an inferno or lightning staff with charged trait you will have more chances of applying the Burning or Concussed status to the target. And that a charged weapon with poison glyph will have more chances of applying Poisoned status.

But what happens if you use the Charged trait in a 1H weapon & Shield with Weaking glyph? What happens if you use a bow with a Charged trait and Oblivion glyph or Weapon glyph? What happens when you use weapons or glyphs that dont give status by themselves?

Also, if you have a charged weapon in the front bar and you use Wall of Elements from the second bar with an infused lightning, will you have more chances of applying Concussed after you swap to front bar again? Cause I think the Concussed procs more often now that I use a Charged Alkosh dagger in 1bar and a lightning destro in the second bar. Maybe its just my imagination...

Charged will up the chance of applying status effects as long as it is on your active bar.

Meaning: if your backbar flame/shock/poison enchantment procs while you are on a charged frontbar, it will have a higher chance of applying burning/concussed/poisoned.
So you always want charged on the bar you spend the most time on, wich is not necessarily the bar you have the enchantment you want to proc on.

Personally on a healer I like to use a backbar lightning staff with infused shock enchant (infused will always only effect the enchantment of the weapon that is infused so if you swap to frontbar your backbar enchantment will still proc more often) and then a charged restoration staff on frontbar for the highest concussed/offbalance uptimes (If no other enchants are asked of me)

Thank you for your answer. So my charged Alkosh dagger indeed helped Concussed proc more often. Do you also know if Concussed applies Minor Vulnerability 100% of the time it procs?

    yes

and the combo concussion + shock wall will set the enemy off balance, giving you extra 10% dmg with tactician

Thank you for your answers guys.

As for what the Charged trait does to enchantments or weapons that dont give status effects, anyone got an idea?

Any abilities that deals fire/shock/frost/poison/disease damage will have higher chance to proc the corresponding status effect. Excluding light attacks and proc sets if i am not mistaken.

Ok, I can understand that. But what happens in the case of a charged bow with Oblivion glyph and a physical damage ability? The charged trait will be useless in that specific situation?

Of course! There are no status effects involved in the situation

Charged works well for me too in S&S. Much better than Decisive and Concussed procs pretty often. ;-)

And also increase your heavy attack damage by 70% and give back double resources.

Would a charged fire staff makes more sense than using Nirn, when you are using more heavy attacks?

He was commenting on the off balance. Even without charged off balance happens often enough. Honestly the only wanna be viable way i see charged trait used on dd is on mag dk for sustain from combustion. Gave me around 200 mag/s.

I use charged on some of my chars. I find it especially useful if a good portion of you damage is from elemental, or disease poison. If you're using any proc sets with any of those, they also have a higher chance to trigger the status effect.

    Just as an example:
Thuderbug carapace set, will trigger the status effect pretty often with charged.
Shadow of the red mountain will have a chance to apply burning more often as well.
Eternal hunt will have a higher chance to apply poisoned.

In many cases charged adds more damage to proc sets than for example sharpened.

It's an interesting trait, and fun to play around with both for pve and pvp.

Edit: Another benefit of charged is that it also deals a small portion of damage so sets like Stormfist that has 10% chance to trigger will trigger more often, and reliably with charged trait, as every small little damage has a chance to trigger it.

What about the Caluurion set, is Charged useful for it? Does it have to be on the Frontbar (fire staff with nirn currently) or could it sit on the back bar (dual wield swords) ?

If Nord, I'd rock Decisive on it due to their extra ult passive... but I rock Breton Ice Mage :)

Livewire procs even more often. In fact I had a mDK using shock staff and livewire to get flame lash procs without using any stun
