I guess the argument would be that's is useless when you get to be a little higher. It is way, way, way faster for me to blow up every enemy in front of me than it is to sneak past in every delve or dungeon I can solo. And to have an entire mechanic be basically useless at higher levels (where every single character will spend the vast majority of their gaming life) seems like a missed opportunity
You've never played a magblade, have you? Using the proper skills, magblades can get the skyshard, kill the boss, and be back outside the delve again before you've even gotten to the skyshard.

Not exactly a claim to fame, but it makes delves/skyshard hunting much less tedious. It's a pity how weak the class is in pretty much every other regard though.

this is a non-issue. be a vampire - no speed penalty in sneak.
slot concealed weapon on top of this and use swift jewelry and steed mundus with divines armour, then you're already faster than base sprinting while just sneaking normally.
use 4 darloc brae, 5 night mother's embrace and 3 night terror and boom - you're practically invisible, super fast and can perma-sneak without worrying about stamina. thank me later

apart from this the honest description is pretty accurate

Or 5 darloc brae, 5 night's silence and 2 whatever if you're a non vampire stamblade. Sure it sucks for combat, but is awesome for stealth and permacloak.

But that option is available to EVERY class, making the choice of being a Nightblade for sneaking irrelevant

nope, concealed weapon which gives the 25% speed increase is a nightblade skill

I still destroy with my stamblade even after zos butchering it but there is ways around it. The fact that im now forced to slot a whole set to get major fracture speaks volumes of how weak the class has become. No other class has to sacrifice a set just to get a specific major debuff. I know there is piercing mark but with how the skills on the nightblade work there is just no way to slot it over other much more important skills such as relentless, leeching, camo hunter, cloak, snare removal such as shuffle or race against time, a cc like fear or turn evil. With new moon acolyte *overloaded" ass set with its stats kinda alleviates the nightblade nerfs since new moon acolyte is basically two sets in one. Combine that with night mothers gaze and you got major fracture back. Still what a s**'t load of ****k. We also still lost minor beserker and endurance just so they were given to everyone by simply slotting camo hunter and rally and there you go free nightblade buffs for everyone. I wish my nightblade could get major mending from dk's imagine how would they feel. How about we just let all classes do everything.

    Most of the active goodies we got such as fracture, mass hysteria getting gutted from;

Summon a dark spirit to terrify up to 2 enemies, causing them to flee in fear for 4 seconds. After the fear ends, their Movement Speed is reduced by 53% for 2 seconds and they are afflicted with Minor Maim, reducing their damage done by 15%.

    To:

Summon a dark spirit to terrify up to 6 enemies, causing them to cower in fear for 3 seconds.

Who ever thought this class needed to fear 6 enemies at once is smoking Tamriel Kush and gotta stop.

In-Game Description: “Nightblades are adventurers and opportunists with a gift for getting in and out of trouble. Relying variously on stealth, blades, and speed, Nightblades thrive on conflict and misfortune, trusting to their luck and cunning to survive.”

Honest Description: “Nightblades are kinda, sorta, maybe the sneaking class in ESO, but you aren’t really encouraged to sneak. You get your speed penalized while sneaking (same as every other class), and most of your skills and passives don’t really encourage you to attack from sneak. Well, two of them kinda do… but, eh, you basically have to just play Nightblade like you would any other class. Feel free to be somewhat stealthy every once in a while, though, because one of your skills lets you turn invisible, which, by the way, is a class-defining skill that is totally 100% useless in most serious content (PVP excluded, because it actually works there and makes everyone hate you).

Also, you are into blood stuff because one-third of the class is dedicated to blood magic. Don’t worry, this doesn’t make you a vampire -- you just, for some reason, have way more options for blood-themed skills than vampires do, which, if you think about it, totally makes sense because…
Anyway, this bloody skill line gives you access to two powerful major damage buffs (brutality and sorcery), but don’t get too excited to enjoy them unless you meet the necessary conditions of having an enemy within melee range -- as if anyone wanted to play an archer and ranged mage anyway.

Let’s not forget that playing a Nightblade means that you get to be an assassin! There’s even an aptly-named skill line dedicated to such endeavors! This skill line gives you the greatest strengths associated with the traditional Elder Scrolls assassin archetype, including: an ultimate with the passive ability to restore resources, a skill that helps protect you from area attacks, and a skill that encourages you to do the totally normal and expected assassin-like thing of standing in front of a target and wailing on them with light and heavy attacks as a way to bulk up your defenses and make you tankier...
Oh, but don’t you worry because you still get to be a sneaky assassin and use the Blade of Woe to assassinate the weakest of overland enemies from stealth… just like every other class in the game who can perform the same exact assassin moves. Son-of-a…”

Well done! I love the voice you used in this. I'm both laughing and crying. I don't main a nightblade, bu the wife does, so I've seen it's downfall second hand over the years. She originally played a magblade before they were meta, and when the big magblade renaissance happened she was super excited that people were seeing what she saw and enjoying the playstyle she loved.

Until it was basically massacred. Now she is scared of patch notes, waiting for the PvP crowd to finally win on the cloak issue (which, let's be honest, they probably will because they have so far) and she'll have to retire her main.

What's a shame is that I really like Mark Target and the whole concept of how that ability works, but it's kinda ironic that in PvE my dps actually lowers by including this skill (a class skill) vs. slotting a damage skill or something like FG's Camo Hunter.
