Hi
I appreciate this, thank you.
Is the additional 8% you get from using a inferno staff on single target not shown on tooltips?
Also in PvP surely the LA damage is less relevant as it is mainly used to proc the glyph?
I have on other builds used S&B on my front bar, but as you have seen i have a lot of passive defence on this build. So don't need S&B.

LA damage is never "less relevant", u should always combine a LA with an ability unless u have an ability with cast time.
Nope you’re not reading it wrong. 2H and DW have more inherent weapon and spell damage then staffs or bows.
I use DW and 2H a lot on my mag classes, it’s effective but only in certain situations.
Staves - best for 1 target, or playing solo, or BGs. Light attacks (plus the enchantments they proc) add up fast and you’ll do more damage with a staff
2H - 2nd highest weapon/spell damage. You also can get forward momentum and better stamina passives. I use 2H on my templar on the healing bar, because 2Hs fit the Templar theme the best
DW - Highest raw stats possible. I use this on most of my healer builds on the healing bar and then back bar a resto staff. Splitting the traits for Nirn MH and powered OH adds a substantial amount to your tooltips. Also has the advantage of possibly using quick cloak, combined with BRP DW for major evasion, major protection, and the radiating aoe damage will proc a weapon damage glyphs regardless of which bar you’re on. Quick cloak is expensive though, so it can be too much of a stamina cost unless you’re a DK or Warden.

This is really helpful thank you. I did look at dual wield but couldn't get the tooltips quite as high...
I was running nirnhoned MH with fire glyph(I am mag DK thought this would help with sustain).
And infused with berserker glyph on OH.
Would another combination be better? Purely for damage that is...
The damage on the tooltips by using 2H seems to be 1000 more than inferno staff...

I have been playing for nearly a year and have become a big fan UESP build editor.
I have been running a particular build in PVP for a few weeks now and have found it super effective.
Anyway i decided to try 2 handed sword(on UESP) just to see the effect on stats and to my surprise it has increased my tooltips massively.
I know that in't the only deciding factor, but I was just wondering is UESP right or is it miscalcualting?
This is my current build:

And this is the same build with 2 handed sword and all passives:

The firestaff gives you 8% more damge from the passives, the 2h only 6%. However the 2h has a higher raw weapon/spelldmg which results in higher damage on tool. With a 2h you wouldn't really lose out on lightattack damage since you are a meele build but I think it feels clunkier. Also you loose the Passive from destruction staff that gives you a 100% higher chance to proc status effects which is very important these days especially on magdk. 2h on MagDk is still very viable but a firestaff is just better especially if you run engulfing and get increased lightattack damage from that and better lightattack damage from your cp as well. Lightattack weaving and the higher chance for status effects makes a firestaff better.
Also, no offense but I don't like your build, it lacks many things, you should probably reconsider.

Yea it’s a lot higher, but light attack weaving is a huge part of your dps. I think the base damage on a light attack is 4 or 5k, so a staff is almost always better.
If you’re playing in the editor don’t forget to buy the DW passives. There’s a DW passive that increases the base damage.
As a DK... IDK. I tried making a DW/resto DK healer build using BRP DW and Jorvlunds but the mag sustain isn’t there.
Melee weapons I found are far better for healers where light attacks don’t matter, and you can always use symbiosis to turn your light attacks into ranged heals with a melee weapon.
Maybe go DW - MH Nirn OH charged/infused as a magdk, I don’t play mine often. You’d have to play with it a lot to find the best traits, sustain, etc...
