✭✭Actually I like it better this way. No stress from missing few days or weeks.
I'm not sure if the patching overhaul happens January or later but when it happens people have to reload whole client. Imagine the salt if there is an awesome reward at the end of the month which many people miss because they spend days loading.Edited by rpa on January 1, 2020 6:36AM6 -

And if you DO want something great... Work For It! Rither in the game, or IRL so you can splurge on crowns to buy it for the game.
And if that doesn't work for you, go and find a game more to your liking. (snip)

I've been playing since closed beta... and I've seen this game go downhill over it's entire life. codierussell✭✭✭✭As much as I agree most of these rewards are garbage for most players, you can't really be mad for many reasons.
1. They don't have to give us anything, and they never used to. So with that being said I will take my free 100,000k thank you very much.
2. We already know on countless occasions that ZOS does everything they can to make casuals happy. Hence why we see so many xp and research scrolls.
3. Even though they are garbage rewards people will still sign in just to collect them, which makes the stats on the player base look even better.
With that being said I would like them to change a few things.
1. The 1k-5k gold, tel var and alliance points are pointless. Even for a new player you can make that in seconds.
2. Why not put something everyone can use like transmute crystals and repair kits. That way they are actually worth it for all players, unlike the food and potions in which you can craft better ones really easily.
3. Maybe make it a token system? There are lots of ways to make this work. Even if you can only spend the collected tokens in the month that you got them, that way you can get progressively better things the more you log in.2 -

Now transmute crystals already are a PvP reward as I recall, but repair kits? Everyone can use those, much like foods and tri-potions! Same for soul gems and other consumable stuff...

Especially if you could save up for something really, really nifty that casuals otherwise might have difficulty getting, like stuff you need to do loads of dungeon runs for, or events they might have missed and such... be it outfit pieces or gear, I'd save tokens for that!

How about a simple "Thanks, but no thanks" button on the giant nag screen ad that you have to get rid of before you can play? Log in noted, but "reward" declined, 16 hours to next opportunity, done.

Mancombe_Nosehair✭✭✭✭✭The simple matter of fact is that these rewards are not designed for the long term player, they are designed for newer players, to keep them here and to play more often.
Eso is doing very well from the casual player perspective, and is rightly catering towards them.
When I swapped from eu to n.a., I found most of the rewards to be extremely useful, particularly the gold and food. The xp and research scrolls were (and still are) very useful too.
The only things I have found to be less useful are the repair stuff and poisons3 -
