Ability Re-work

Would anyone else prefer it if ESO scrapped all current classes and ability lines, and replaced them? The format is fine, with active skills, passives, and an ultimate. However, imagine a skill line for each school of magic from the previous games (destruction, illusion, etc) as well as a skill line for each weapon type. Instead of choosing a class, they were all available, and no class choice was present at creation. I suppose it's a bit of a TES III inspired idea, but with the ESO format.

This has been re-hashed many times in the forums, @asuitandtyb14_ESO.

You can do a simple search in the forums and find the reasons why abolishing or homogenizing classes isn’t a good idea.

One of the reasons is that players would just choose the strongest skill lines ... regardless of whether they were weapon, destruction, illusion, or whatever.

Yeah, this discussion has been made plenty of times. For me, I like the current system as it is sort of a checks and balance system. Each class has its own strength and limitations. If we were to implement the system you are talking about, it may be cool for your average day casual/roleplayer. However, for PvP and PvE, you would just see a lot of the same builds over and over, and then everyone would be running the same things (like endgame PvE'rs running 7-8 stamcros...). In other words, boring.

but with the new way they are balance by having same skill type all do same dmg people would just pick the flavor they wanted, but the utility abilities would be the had part to balance. to stop builds being the same
