Self rooting abilities need to go.

I might have missed some but all of these abilities will stop your character when you cast it. Dodge rolling while this happens will make you dodge roll backwards even if you are moving forward.

My understanding was that backroll was caused by breaking free while holding down the run key. Maybe I’ll test that later.

I'm all for this to remain in the game, but animation cancelling is part of the game and defaulting to a dodge roll backwards instead of the intended direction needs to be fixed.

These abilities were changed to be bugged around Thieves Guild, and still haven't been fixed. Some videos of some of them. There are to many to actually record and upload.

There are abilities that can cause it. I don't remember ever having an issue with dodge rolling backwards on my Magicka Warden, but it certainly happens to my Magicka Templar and Magicka Necromancer, and can oftentimes directly result in death.

I contacted some of the class reps months ago with the same videos I posted. Its very unlikely this will be fixed within the year.

But have you contacted the people who have the power to fix things like this? Class Reps aren’t devs and can’t make any system changes.

Sending your vids with a bug report is more likely to....actually never mind. Sending a bug report won’t make any difference. I don’t know what I was thinking.

I’ve noted that subsequent casts of these skills do not root me, only the first cast or sometimes two. This is most noticeable with BoL and Combat Prayer. If you start spamming the skills you can move freely while doing so. It’s very odd.

Is the necro scythe the only necro skill that does this? I was going to get elsweyr to start a necro but don't think I will if half the skills do this.

Yeah, it's annoying to have to bunny hop to avoid stopping while casting these abilities.

I think this only seems to happen with high ping or something. If I watch a streamer or something it usually doesn't happen to them.
