Event Tracker. New addon to help manage tickets.

Here is a new add on made by a friend, Kelinmiriel, to help manage tickets, including informing you of how long it has been since you last looted one.

"Helps keep track of Event Tickets so you don't miss any.

Currently only works in chat window; does not have its own user interface yet.

Automatic messages:
- at character sign on
- when a ticket is acquired
- when tickets are spent at the Impresario.

Commands:
/evt - View ticket information
/evtinfo - View event information
/evthide - Hide automatic messages, except the most important
/evtshow - Show all messages (reverse /evthide)

This addon works for people who play on both NA and EU servers."

I was doing the same for a while. Im liking how she made it, its minimalistic. I usually run A LOT of add ons so it is nice to have that for me.

I'll try it, though maybe not until it has a UI of its own as I never have the chat pane open. I have an Excel spreadsheet for each server and each account, with all my characters listed; I track my tickets there.

IMO it works fine, might want to change the text color from system yellow though, to set it apart from other addon messages.
Or have it be an option perhaps?
The timer until next tickets can be earned is useful.

This resets with the daily timer, why would you need an addon to track it? Or are we talking about something else?

Although there should be some kind of Achievement for that.

I’m a spreadsheet kind of person. You should see the ones I have for my cross stitching supplies and workout logs

*shrugs* I’m definitely not the most organized person ever, so I need something to help me focus. Otherwise it’s just random shorthand notes on scraps of paper or I just forget what I’m doing altogether.

Ditto. Though I don't work out any more.... Cross stitch for sure though! Gazillions of hanks of thread.... rolls of fabric... stacks of patterns....

I absolutely love spreadsheets myself. I've been making and using them for all sorts of things for almost 30 years (including workout sheets and crafts, and recently ESO.)

But for this I wanted a simple in-game reminder of when I was near the ticket cap, so I wrote one.

Plus, I figured this could help a lot of other people avoid losing tickets.

I like the suggestions for improvements. I've always planned to make a nice UI for it. But this is my first addon. I didn't know anything when I started it. So I've been teaching myself Lua, and decided to start with making it functional and useful first, then learning how to make a UI later. I think that'll be next.

It only uses system default for informational messages. For important messages, it uses colors. It would definitely be better if the colors were customizable, but they aren't for now because my primary focus was to get it up and running as quickly as possible.

Green: 10 tickets, no danger of exceeding cap; tickets for the day are available
Orange: Tickets will exceed cap after reset; nearing reset and tickets are still not done
Red: Spend tickets or you could lose some.

I just posted Version 1.13 - it finally has a user interface!

The UI hides itself during combat, and can be toggled on/off with a chat command "/evt ui".

Chat commands have been changed, as they were getting a bit cumbersome; and there are more of them now also:

/evt - still shows YOUR event tickets
/evt help or /evt ? - shows all chat commands

/evt info - Event Information (/evtinfo still works for now also, as people were used to it)
/evt chat - Posts Event Info to a chat line, to answer questions from other players

/evt hide - Hides chat messages except the most important
/evt show - Shows all chat messages (default)

/evt ui - Toggle user interface
