[Resolved] Event Ticket Looting Issue

Radiance

✭✭✭✭✭
After killing a World Boss, realized I forgot to clear my ticket stockpile (11/12) so I specifically did NOT loot the WB I killed, went to Auridon to clear my stack and when I killed another WB wasn't given my 3 Tickets... IK some will say we've still got 2 weeks left but I took the time TODAY and was not rewarded for it. I log on during Events for the Tickets specifically and this just threw a wrench in my plans to purchase all the pieces I need.

Someone please fix this ****!!!

The tickets are bound to the loot. They were lost the moment you left that corpse alone, sorry -- as far as the game's concerned, it gave you your tickets already, you just didn't take them. People have had a lot of issues with this in past events, but it hasn't been addressed.

Annoying yes, but really it is on you to manage your inventory. At some point you have to take responsibility for your own actions & choices & not automatically blame Zos.

But perhaps put a ticket in & someone might be awash with the spirit of the season & be nice!

Did you miss the part where I mentioned doing exactly that and tried to correct my mistake? And I already submitted my ticket so...

Unfortunately, that's how it works. The first thing I do every morning when I log in is check where I am at with tickets. Just to make sure, even if I remember from the day before. I wouldn't say you were robbed, I would say you made a mistake (one we've all probably made at least once). Regardless of the fact that you realized your mistake and tried to correct it, you did so too late, after the tickets for the day had been awarded.

Your fault I'm afraid, on your own admission. It's pretty standard practice to check each day that you have the capacity to accept new tickets. You forgot to do so and yet it's down to ZOS not you, apparently.

However, the good news is that you can put in a ticket and ask for some consideration, while the bad news is that if you adopt the bolded approach above then I doubt they'll be as understanding as if you appear polite and contrite.

Definitely sucks, but you were not robbed you f'd up. Write it off and move on. I know that there are hordes of "F the devs" people on here and some with real gripes, this is not one of them.

This is apparently a known issue, unbeknownst to me, that has yet to be resolved. Loot Distribution should be based on Character/ Account confirmation, not just "It dropped, ya snooze, ya lose!"

Like are you serious, that is your answer to problems? This is why everything stays broken bc ppl celebrate ZoS by all means and blame the people who Name issues.

I never looted the WB so I have no way of knowing if the tickets were ever even in there! Schrodinger's Cat!
Therefore, I reject your arguments because this is Not a simple User Error but a distribution Design Flaw.

You not looting it is the only flaw and the rest is irrelevant, and it is not a design flaw. There have been countless warnings about making sure you have room for tickets from players and staff alike. At the worst you could have cleared your tickets and come back to the body with a couple of quick waypoint jumps. Instead you over complicated it and played yourself.

"I never looted it so I do not have any...." and yet you immediately claimed that you were robbed? Which is it? You left the tickets behind or they were not there?

It's not a design flaw. The loot is assigned to you the moment the mob dies, even if you don't look at it. The reason for this is not even about the tickets. If the loot was not assigned to you until you pick it up, you could look a it decide you want different loot, close and open the loot again for different loot. The tickets being lost is just a byproduct of how the system works.

Just to be clear, it's not an ISSUE or a bug. It is how the system is designed to work, the system worked exactly as intended and there is no fault on ZOS side that you lost out on tickets. It's just arguably a bad decision to design it that way, but there is nothing to be 'resolved' -- just the theoretical potential for ZOS to change the way the system works into something more user-friendly.

Let's be real here, come on. HOW is this a bad design decision? This person quite literally wanted their cake and to eat it too. There is NO flaw with the design that you kill something you loot it, and if you do not you lose any loot that was on that body.
There has to be a line where people stop blaming devs for everything that happens. There are real issues out there, this is not one.

Because in previous events, people had a lot of issues with crashing/disconnecting, bosses not being lootable due to various bugs, and that thing during the Elsweyr event where any enemy could have the tickets and a lot of people swore they didn't kill anything but still missed out. It's not the most horrible design by any means, it just leaves room for a lot of little mistakes like this, so having it be more fool-proof would be more user-friendly.
Just because OP in this case was in the wrong doesn't mean the system couldn't be improved. It literally has nothing to do with this person. Which TBH you would understand if you maybe looked at the fact that I made this point while also saying OP was in the wrong.

It happened to me once that I had 12 tickets full and not realize it. So I lost an event ticket that day. I survived it, rolled my eyes at my own oversight, learned from the experience, and even if your case is a tiny bit different you can do the same.
Instead of event tickets you got a live eso lesson in eso game mechanics. Its not the end of the world.

So get berries and save the purchase of the one feather you cannot yet gather in this event for the next event in january. For the spectral indrik will come and so will more feathers.

How am I throwing a tantrum? The only reason I come to the forums is TO complain about game issues and uh... That's what it's here for. I am a customer and I'm pretty sure we have a right to voice our dissatisfaction with a purchased product.

How about YOU think before you post and offer up nothing new to the conversation?

Glad you were able to get your tickets after all.

That being said, I'd like to clarify some of the points brought up above. What happened to you was not a design flaw. Losing tickets, when you are full or if you don't loot them when they spawn, is in fact how ZOS designed the event tickets to work.

Its not user friendly. Its very prone to user error. Even the Anniversary Event which was literally "pick up tickets the first time you eat cake" had plenty of user errors that resulted in losing tickets. What happened to you was a very common case of user error - you didn't loot the tickets when they first spawned, so they were lost. (In contrast, when I had tickets refunded by Support, it was because ESO crashed in the middle of a dragon fight and there was no possible way for me to loot the spawned tickets as a result of a game error.)

ZOS could change that design. But considering that ZOS wants players to grind events or buy/gift event tickets from the Crown Store, they don't have a lot of incentive to increase the ticket cap or make a more user-friendly system. From their perspective, it's working as intended.

I did and complained in my spare time. Multitasking. Lol

I see it as a public service announcement, I'll even change the title to tickle your fancy!

    1. People reading this who were previously unaware of the issue are less likely to make the same mistake and

    2. Said people now know that if they encounter the same problem, ZoS will fix it.

I'll decline accepting any wrongdoing, this is literally what the Forums are for.
Y'all just salty you came to add insult to injury and ZoS fixed the issue caused by a flawed distribution design.

So... Maybe I wasn't wrong to complain? ;)
