Anyway, I think I would like this idea more if we could also gift our daily tickets that we earn in-game than only having another purchase option to push crate sales (because that's why this is even being offered). Even if it meant a different reward than gambling crates for in-game earned tickets I wouldn't care. Money first, players second ofc.

Its simply a way for ZOS to inflate Crown Ticket sales during an event where you can get 5 tickets a day if you want.

And its really only worth it if you were going to buy the 4-pack of Crown Crates or going to gift/sell 5 tickets regardless of the promotion.

It's basically an incentive for those with crowns to help those without crowns complete their Indriks. The crown seller pool is very low right now, and the exchange rates are high.

It is worth it to me. It may not be worth it to you.

I was going to buy the crates for 1,500 crowns* anyway, so this way I save 250 crowns; I also get to do something nice for a friend who is behind on tickets. It's a small win-win, but a win-win nonetheless.

    Your mileage may vary.

(*Edited because I was certainly NOT going to spend $1,500, which is what I accidentally typed! :D )

Well, look at it from a Math perspective.

1,500 Crowns for 4 Crates would mean that each Crate is worth 375 Crowns.
1,250 Crowns for 4 Crates would mean that each Crate is worth 312.50 Crowns.

In comparison, 5,000 Crowns for 15 Crates would mean that each Crate is worth 333.34 Crowns.

So it's actually a better deal than the best standard deal for Crown Crates. But can only be used once (I think?).

Of course, that goes out the window when you factor in the routine "ESO Plus deal" that happens near the end of a Crown Crate season, which is 4,000 Crowns for 15 Crates. AKA, each Crate is worth 266.67 Crowns.

But there is one last bonus to this! If you "trade" Ticket Gifting with another player, you end up with cheaper than average Crates AND 5 bonus tickets.

I said yes, but only if you want to bring some joy to others and get a discount on 4 crates if you were getting them anyway or can afford to do it. I won't be doing it as I don't want to spend that much on crates right now. I can see its a good option for some people though.

Gambling crates are neve worth it. No matter the temptaion, never give into spending money on crates and hoping you'll get something good out here of it. This will most likely leave you frustrated. Instead, use crowns on other things if you have them.

Because the year is ending, there were going to be people buying tickets to get mounts. This adds a bonus to it. I have zero interest in the crates and I don't need tickets, but this deal will add value for some.

Selling tickets is a ripoff. As for crates, those should be controlled like other gambling.

While mathematically speaking it is still a better price, I still voted No. I am seriously getting really annoyed by our cash shop...

Have you noticed that this year we don't get one single Christmas gift? Not one single. Last year we got a couple of hats (through the daily rewards), they were not the best looking but that doesn't matter, I am not asking for the best thing ever, just a gift tied to the holiday season. This year: nothing, nada, nichts, rien, 没有. If you want to bring some holiday cheer to your game, you have to go to the cash shop.

Shame on you ZOS, shame on you.

I would much rather have had a deal similar to previous gifting event : donate 1250 worth of crown items to people, get 5 crates.

For 1250 crowns you get five event tickets, that go to someone else, and 1500 crowns worth of crates, that you keep; that's 2750 crowns worth of items and it's worth it if you know someone that's behind in the indrik race.
As a gift to strangers just to get discounted crates I wouldn't bother

If the tickets get sent out later it's possible they arrive on both EU and NA when you only gifted on one server. Just something to consider.

If two friends need tickets, they gift them to each other.

    Both get 5 tickets.

    Both get free crates.

It's a deal if the two friends really needed them.

I get the point you are driving at, and I think ZOS are teetering at the edge of going too far with monetization and really need to scale things back and make pricing fairer, or risk losing all goodwill and engagement. Crown crates in particular are ridiculously and insultingly over priced.

However its not rally an appropriate comparison or context, because you can earn the tickets for "free" in game, then sell them for something which costs crowns. Thats what I intend on using my tickets for, and then I will just buy the motifs down the line when they are cheap.

You can earn tickets for free in game, but will you be able to earn enough to complete the Skaal Explorer motif this year?

I considered the deal when I misread and thought I'd be getting 5 crates rather than 4. Maybe I still will if any friends need help getting more tickets. IDK though because I don't really think it's much of a deal.

Not really. The tickets you earn for free in game are bound and cannot be gifted. The gifted Event Tickets are specifically the Crown Store ones bought for Crowns.

Its a pretty hard no from me, thats for sure.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""

    Agreed.

Personally it just leaves a bad taste in my mouth to pay for a "chance" at getting what you like. Just put it in the crown store and I'd probably just buy it.

it's not worth it because i feel both are overpriced. If the tickets were 25 crowns and the crates were 150. then i'd prob join in. but as yet it's overpriced for the odds of getting anything good or interesting. And No, getting gems for doubles does not make it better if you can't turn in the unlocks of things you weren't interested in getting anyway.

If you were planning on buying crates then yeah, it's a great deal cause you basically get them for a discount and one of your friends gets free tickets. Not sure why every is knocking it. Yeah, it's a way to get people to spend crowns but I mean, their always going to do that, it's business. No different then countless other promotions and gimmicks all stores have to get you to come spend money.

it's not a "problem" for me. if people wanna spend their money on it, that's on them.
I think it's a rip-off, which means I won't do it, but I'm not about to try and stop/discourage anyone that wants to.
