What alt to level in new life?

Pogues
Pogues
Newer player looking for opinions on what to finish leveling during new life event. Choices are magdk, stamdk, magplar. I understand games go through buff and nerf cycles so I'm curious which option is in a better place usually. If they are close in pvp a tie breaker for me would be pve dps. Thank you.

MagPlar is currently the goat, but besides that it is a super fun and versatile class.

StamDK has been one of the most consistent performers since the moment stam became viable, but magplar is good choice for an alt cause it has the ability to provide a lot of team support even when built for aggressive solo play.

MagDK shines sometimes, but it’s had a few bad patches here and there.

Thanks for the responses. With all the magplars i see i kinda figured that. Was kinda hoping the answer would be magdk just because it looks like they are having fun as they kill me.

With the New Life Exp Booster, and some of the Exp Scrolls you get as daily rewards, you can get real close to L50 just doing the 9 or so daily activities each day on each alt. Once you get into a rythym, it does not take that long to run all 9 on each alt. This event may not run as long as previous New Life festivals, so your results may vary. However i got an Alt to almost 50 on the event alone one year fully exp boosted the whole time.

For sure, if your looking to level a skill like resto staff or armors, slot those skills or wear that armor weight while doing the activities. Resto is best to level as no combat is needed.

So, i would roll all the Alts I would want to level and run them through activities each day. Add in some Dolmen Zerging and you could get 3 or 4 to L50 during this event.

Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

I’d go Warden, DK or Sorc.

Magplars are complained about a lot. They’re likely near the end of the cycle in their relative power.

I find things go like this:
Something’s weak -> gets buffed and becomes balanced -> people keep complaining -> buffed again and becomes OP.

Then something’s OP -> complained about and nerfed and becomes balanced -> People keep complaining and it’s nerfed again -> becomes underpowered, people keep complaining -> nerfed again, people keep complaining but won’t stop until it’s a dead class.

Most buffs and nerfs are like they’re done with a sledge hammer instead of a scalpel.

Sorc’s a good choice because they’re never nerfed, only changed. DK has had its nerf to wings and seem to be on the way up. Wardens are like sorcs, never nerfed and only changed.

If you’re a good player it’s easy to adapt to changes, but that won’t stop bad players from screaming their heads off.

I play a magplar and am already getting a warden ready to be ahead of the cycle.

Looking for any guildies I used to play with:
    Havoc Warhammer - Alair
LoC EQ2 - Mayi and Iskiab
PRX and Tabula Rasa - Rift - Iskiab
Or anyone else I used to play games with in guilds I’ve forgotten

Thanks, it's probably mostly for solo play and bg's. My current dk is level 21 i could free race change and try stam. Best race if i do? I have a magsorc already, just wanted to try something new. Not really loving the stamwarden i just made. Seems like forever buffing.

To be honest the last patch was Warden, Templar, and DK "identity" update. Wouldn't be surprised if DK was revisited but I don't expect any drastic changes to Warden or Templar.

Hopefully they just update NB and Necro to be in line. Personally Sorcs are already up there.

That would be perfect imo, but who knows. DK stonefist people complain about, no idea if the complaints are change related or valid. DK damage is okay, tankiness good, on the mag side I think they need some ability costs reduced to help with sustain but that’s it.

Sorc, Warden, Templar are fine. Magblade’s bad. Necro’s weird, needs fine tuning. With Necro both the complaints that things are powerful and bad because abilities are broken (in a bad sense) are valid, but that’s to be expected with a new class.
