Why do I have a 5 second wait period after a fight? Players just come along and take what I just fought for. Fix this please.

In what circumstances do you mean? I'm not aware of any loot that can be grabbed by another player out from under you. The loot is instanced and determined by how much damage you do to the target. If you do all the damage, you get all the loot. Need more info.

It's because of you can't mine a node etc whilst you're under attack, and because so many of the trash mobs stupidly lead with a CC, often that CC is persistent no matter how quickly you kill said trash mob. Hence, you can't mine your node for 3-4 seconds.

Honestly, this game would be a lot better if CC in both PvE and PvP was reduced by 50% min. But no, Zos keep doing it, because apparently it's engaging gameplay, instead of tediously boring.

What happens is this, I have to fight NPC`s for resources such as bugloss etc... After the fight there is 5 seconds of wait and the target icon is still red. All of the NPC`s are down so why the wait?

Ah... Definitely the "stuck in combat bug." It's not intentional, but they've yet to find a solution for it as well.

There are [snip] like those who farm the node even you are fighting mob right next to it. Had that once at Craglorn when the sob decide it was okay to come farm the node while I was fight right on top of the node. So I stop fighting and drag her into the fight right when her start pick-axe the node. She didn't get to finish the animation so the node was still there. Karma hit when I was the one able to get out of the fight-lock first so I was able to farm the node. What's more, I got a nirncrux.

    Edit for profanity.

I'll call it a trash cleaners, especially in Delves, you just let the unsuspecting one to lead the way and take the mobs aggro, and you just strut behind, picking and looting crates, bags, barrels... #D

Although I'm not so deranged to stalk people on the map to take the aggro and steal the mats, that is really ultra waste of time.

When you drink an invisibility potion, it will get you out of combat slightly faster.

I use it all the time when I don't want to kill the animals attacking me whilst I harvest.

Dear Dev team - it's really easy:
    1. Nodes can be harvested even when a player is "in fight"
    2. Damage breaks the animation and the player has to start over
Maybe make it "direct damage", so players don't have to wait until a DoT runs out..

    You're welcome!

...sure, someone could still grab "your" node while you're in a fight. But come on, every overland mob (except bosses) dies so quickly, the timeframe is really small. And you could still stun, fear, incapacitate, whatever your foe to get the node before the actual fight.

When combat ends you can harvest the node.

Unfortunately that means if you use a dot then that dot has to complete too.

Muscle memory has me triggering endless hail or caltrops and then I'm standing there waiting for the animation to finish before the option to harvest the node appears.

Plus, easiest way to resolve this is for scumbag players who loot nodes other players are fighting over to stop doing this.

As with many things this is a player issue that ZOS is being asked to solve.

It’s a shame that some players can be so self-obsessed and selfish.

On a slightly related note, I hate it when I'm charging through the wilderness, leap my mount over a rock and... bam, I'm fishing the guts out of a bug that was hiding in the leaves.

Actually happens more than I would have thought credible.

Just because you happen to be fighting a mob next to a node does not put your indisputable claim on it. How is someone supposed to know if you are just questing or farming mats?

Uh, normally I help finish the fight or stand and watch, then see if they run off or get the node. Also, most observant people see farmers farming, so know some of the people are farmers and not just questing.

Of course that takes time way from your farming, so skip the node and move on, if you don't got the time.

Of course this is a seriously old disputed point, with no real "correct" answer, just different peoples opinions.

Well this went sideways, I have been farming nodes for along time and when I see a player fighting close to a node I leave it alone. Sometimes I will just stand there or even help and then wait. Think of " Pay It Forward" for the player. What you do to others will probably come back and bite you. Now back to subject at hand, Dot`s are not the problem in my case. I have stood by the nodes when nothing was happening. My target icon would be red for 5 seconds so like the previous comments "Combat Bug" would probably be the cause. I still don`t know what the bug is, so trying to avoid it will be difficult. Thx.

Crates/bags/barrels/backpacks/cabinets/etc are all instanced for each player. Resource nodes and chests are not.

yea this is quite annoying. kill a spider to mine ore and sit there for 5 seconds after combat hoping nobody grabs it out from under me.

i don't know how the devs can think this is good gameplay.

The easiest solution to this nonsense is to make it so multiple players can farm a node. It despawns and has a respawn timer for you but doesn't have to respawn for other players.

If I see Bugloss, its my Bugloss no matter how many wolves you killed near it.

Yeah, i just tested the DoT statement and no. I used a straight forward attack and it still had the 5 second wait period. So the Dot`s are not the problem. FYI, Thx.

That's the most frustrating part of the bug. There's no one single thing to point to that causes it other than "being in combat". It's close to the top of my list of most annoying bugs.

My strategy is to prioritize the nodes over the npcs. You usually have a second to pick up the node before the first npc actually hits you.

Indeed. This is why I always try to "harvest one, skip the next" when I see others harvesting, and of course when you see someone is in combat near a node, do not take it.

It is better to have too much courtesy than too little, provided you are not equally courteous to all, for that would be injustice.
