Copy everything you typed. Sign back in and paste. Boom.

Also maybe you have some software installed that has scheduled cleaning of browser data and other trash, for example Cleaner has that feature, and if checked, it will delete the browser cache/history/cookies as well.

If you realize that's what happened, sure. Thing is, there's no other indication that you aren't signed in except the "you don't have permission to do that" message, which is identical to when the thread is closed mid-typing and copy/paste does no good there.
A distinct error message like "You are not signed in" would be useful.

Something similar is already in place. It's the "sign in" button. When you are able to see it, you aren't signed in.

Seriously?

Happens to me once in a while also. You know you can log back in right?

@Vizikul Didn't you read my OP? I specifically state that I APPEAR to be signed in, as in "I see my user name and those four icons (the globus, the star and the other two) at the top of the page". Yet I get the "you do not have permission for this action" message and when I refresh THEN I get the "Sign In/Register" at the top.
Plus the answer box isn't even visible if you're not logged in. I shouldn't even be able to type an answer in anything because logged out the box isn't there!

Yet another person with reading difficulties and a poisonous personality.

So...I'm doing this on mobile, where it might be different than PC or a different mobile browser. When this happens to me, I'm writing a comment and only get the message "you don't have permission to do that" when I try to post.
I do NOT get the sign in button visible UNLESS I refresh the page. Then I get it and can sign back in...but refreshing the page eats the comment I was writing, at least from the last draft saved before I was signed out unbeknownst to me, which was the original complaint we were talking about.
Hence me asking for a specific "You are not signed in" message as opposed to the rather generic "you don't have permission to do that" which refers to multiple things on this forums. If I saw something like that, I'd know for sure to copy the comments to repaste it.
Ultimately, its a small change for me, but it would be clearer.

It's strange you're able to start writing a comment without being logged in. I don't even see the comment box on mobile, only the line that says Sign in or register to comment.
No big deal signing in again though. Definitely not big enough for a forum post.
