Back when dwemer motifs were the latest ***, i crafted a normal chest piece dwemer stile, upgraded it to legendary and listed it for 100k in the guild store.
Hircine's veneer 's belt. I also had purple jewelry, then I got gold ones from gold vendor in cyro... Long before jewelry crafting...
...And then ZOS reworked this set into uselessness....
Julianos one hand sword, which I still use with Archmage or Treasure Hunter in PvP today even though its definitely starting to "no longer compete" with all the broken sets ZOS keeps releasing...
Though this patch, all sort of "retro" builds seem to be effective...
A Nightmother's Gaze Glass sword, sharpened. Two weeks of intense gold-farming later, its partner-in-crime, a NMG Glass dagger, precise, received a similar legendary treatment.
Haven't used either of them in maybe 3 years, but they're still on one of my ult characters!

Smooth sailing with dat 280ms Aussie latency.
As for gear it would be weapon since that is the most important piece of gear to upgrade and the one most worth it due to the added spell damage provided.
Same as OP, though those were 2 nirnhoned dual wield hunding's swords in buoyant armiger style. I spent all my gold to craft that but was proud AF. Those swords are still stored in chest in main house like a dynasty relic
First piece I made was probably a bow of Hunding's Rage, and certainly well below level 50. I realised I didn't need to save up all my Golden tempers for wood until I reached max level, seeing as you don't have so many pieces to make.
First I bought was a set of gold Morag Tong jewellery.
First piece I earned was an Eagle-Eyed Necklace for finishing 3rd on the leader board in a PvP campaign. It was never any use to me, but I kept hold of it as a souvenir.
I think it was probably 2 gold julianos swords, or maybe an inferno staff...or possibly impen shacklebreaker armor, or my light valkyn skoria monster set.
The shacklebreaker I still use all the time, the julianos and skoria stuff not so much lol.
can't remember... maybe "Riven Hourglass, Sword of the Martial Knowledge"
It could have been a NMG medium armor too or a Hunding's Greatsword that I sold...
Sarcasm is something too serious to be taken lightly
I was born with the wrong sign
In the wrong house
With the wrong ascendancy
I took the wrong road
That led to the wrong tendencies
I was in the wrong place at the wrong time
For the wrong reason and the wrong rhyme
On the wrong day of the wrong week
Used the wrong method with the wrong technique
