Are you on PC? or Console? If on PC I would suggest getting the combat metric add on, it will show you how much damage you're doing and with what skills. As is my understanding (i'm by no means a pro) you'll want to practice your weaving of light attacks to maximize dps and the combat metrics add on will show you how much of your overall damage in the parse is from light attacks.

I would also suggest watching Alcast's youtube videos, as well as t3hasiangod. Asian has some really helpful videos breaking down the various aspects of combat in the game, while Alcast does a little more explaining why he opts for certain skills over others.

I would also make sure that your weapons are golded and everything else is at least purple quality-wise. The jewelry might be tricky to get in purple depending on the build, but you'll want at least blue and focus on upgrading it asap.

If you're using the second gear setup, now look into running the content needed for his top tier build as that will have an impact on your overall dps, but the most important thing will be to practice your rotation until it becomes second nature. I don't know this particular build off the top of my head, but most alcast builds for magicka tend to focus on false god's so you will want to run the Sunspire trial at least on normal. 18k dps is plenty as long as you're with a group that knows what they're doing.

If you're on console, no add ons and I'm not familiar with how people do their calculations there, but the rest of the advice is the same.I'm sure if I missed anything someone with more knowledge can add.

I don't know what "Magicka do" relates to, but yeah not all of his builds get videos. Some of his livestreams do show and talk about a fair bit of stuff. Xynode is also another great youtuber to follow for info/guides. If your gear is all purple, it sounds like it's going to be down to practicing rotation. The other thing is to keep earning your CP points as I noticed a difference from using just the 300 point allotment Alcast lists and using the CP points calculator from his website to keep updating as I had more points in (around the 500 or so mark).

Still not sure if you're on PC or console, but if on PC another add on that I use for info is a light attack tracker, between that and combat metrics you can get a pretty decent idea if your light attacks are hitting. Asian has a video breaking down how to use the combat metrics add on so I won't attempt to explain it (it's all witchcraft to me anyway).

Alcast updates his builds, but he no longer makes videos for all of them anymore. I usually defer to Liko if I want to see what a new rotation looks like.

Well, its a Mag DK. I think they are towards the lower end of the DPS spectrum as a whole While DKs have utility as PVE tanks and PVP damage dealers, the DK class as a DPS in PVE has been kind of relegated to redhead stepchild status for some time now. I know you will hear about people pulling 50K on the 6 mil dummy, but that's pretty hard and a lot of the time not true. Especially at CP 300 levels

Some things to consider:

- Swap Mother's Sorrow for Silks of the Sun
- What food are your running?
- Your CP will increase damage as you go up in levels
- Zaan is a great improvement in damage over Grothdarr
- Skoria can be a good improvement in damage over Grothdarr as the cooldown is half as long
- Maybe give up and make a sorc? Only kind of kidding.

I played a Stam DK for years when I first started in ESO. DKs are durable and have good sustain. But it wasn't until I made alternates I realized DKs are far behind other classes.
