Crafting question

It's a bit convoluted, sorry...

If I crafted someone a maple staff or ruby ash staff, would they get more XP for deconstructing the ruby ash staff? In addition, if I added a trait to the staff, would it give extra XP when it's deconstructed?

Thx.

    Yes.

No (if I'm not forgetting something).

    This.

If you are making items for folks to deconstruct for leveling you might also consider making them pieces with traits for researching.

If your just making the gear to decon don't bother adding a trait, only make the gear CP150 making it CP160 is a waste of mats.

Only put a trait on something if its going to be used for research or gear you or the person your crafting for is planning to use.

But if you have the gold buy intricate gear off of guild stores, anything 200 gold and under that is at least CP150, is about the best price your likely to get anything over the 200 is just the seller trying to get a little bit more gold out of the item your better off checking other stores than paying above the 200 gold.

Only jewelry intricate's are worth a larger amount anywhere up to 1K a piece but if you shop around you can get them quite a bit under that price usually as low as 400 gold a piece if you manage to get to the store before someone else.

significantly more. I bank all my white ruby items for lowbies to decon. it pays more than 10x more to decon the ruby than something their level. In some cases it is 100 times more, though i cant remember the exact circumstances on the latter.

From testing done a little while ago, Mob Loot gives the same Inspiration as other player made items. Also, if you make items on one character and decon on another character, you get the same inspiration as if another player made it.

Back when the game came out, other player made items did give the most inspiration, but that was changed a few years ago. Seems a lot of crafting sites still promote other player made gear. It is simply not true.

Really, the best way to get gear to decon is to grind on zombies and vampires and bloodfiends. These are squishy, drop gear and gold, give experience and respawn quickly. You can run patterns, kite a bunch of them, and using AoE and mow down large groups at once.i
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

PakKat "Everything was going well, until I died"
Gary Gravestink "I am glad you died, I needed the help"

While this works it's not the best way to do it if you need to lvl jewelry. If you want a balanced approach to grinding this out you want dolmens, dragons, and geysers. As all three drop jewelry you can decon.

A faster option to decon jewelry is to buy the purple Eagle Eye coffers in Bruma ... since those can only drop jewelry or bow.

Takes about an hour to fully level 0-50 ... depending on how many trips you need back to the jewelry table.

There is a large up front investment of about 5-6 million AP ... which most regular PvP players are likely sitting on. But, you get to keep all purple grains from decon. ;)

As above, Loot gear and Crafted Gear give same IP for same

Decon IP also has Craft Skill Level caps. And Decon Material return also has Character level caps.

If you give a character with Level 1 in WW a Maple Staff to decon they will get ~504 IP. They will get the same for a CP150 Ruby Ash Staff.

If you give a character with Level 13 in WW a Maple Staff to decon they will get ~504 IP. They will get ~8603 IP for a CP150 Ruby Ash Staff.

You can level WW to 50 on a Level 3 Character from decon but they will not receive any materials from the decon until they are closer to the Decon Item Level. I have to find my old notes on where the break points are.
