I love this crafting system. However I feel as though even though I have over 70 traits unlocked, nothing will make my crafting ability unique; that is to say eventually all crafters will be virtually identical in what they can do, its just a matter of time before they have all traits/skills unlocked.
I really like the restrictions in place before you can make a set as well… but it seems like a few of the dropped sets are very strong compared to craftable set bonuses. So I have a proposal to address both of those issues:
Whenever ZOS finally releases a patch to add jewelry crafting, why not also add the ability to break down one of these set bonuses and basically research it like a trait so that you can actually craft them onto new items? I think it could really separate crafters from each other. Additionally as a concession to the devs, make this research take 4 hours per item, and make it fail-able. To avoid screwing over crafters who have failed multiple times, make the chance of success increase with each failure so that no one gets killed by the RNG.
Also, to keep in theme with what the devs have going with the special crafting stations, you could force players to only be able to deconstruct and craft these dropped sets in a special station available at a level 50 area. The devs give us something, and we give them a little.
What do you guys think?
Would it break the game?
