Please help me.

Hello and I hope you’re having a great day because I’m not. Today I was in the Alik’ir Desert doing my Dolmen grind like always do when I level a new character to max level so I can experience the story at max level. Suddenly a bunch of players start accusing me of ‘AFK Bot Grinding’ and one twitch streamer joined in on accusing me. I have never broken the rules in this game since I started playing in 2014. I have high functioning autism and I’m right now really panicked that I’m going to get banned for doing something but I did not do.

I’m on the verge of tears because I’m really worried that I’m going to get banned for something that I’ve never even done. Please Zenimax don’t ban, I didn’t do anything wrong.

If ZoS didn't just make a mistake, i would, if you, report it in a bug-ticket (ingame, F1) alongside this, as a harassment report, but, then im kinda atm dealing with them not handling harassment report very nicely. But good luck, Don't name em here, but trigger a mail, or/and use the ingame one for slander and harassment.

I’m sorry to hear this happened to you! It sounds like perhaps you should have been the one to report them for harassing you!

I very much doubt that you will have to worry about ZOS taking any action against you as they investigate these reports and it should be pretty clear that you were there and interacting with the environment.

Just ignore them, speak 8n chat and move on. If reported you will be reviewed and they can see bot from non bot due to how you act and or speak.

They have ways to verify on the back end if you are not a bot, and if you do get some kind of ban, you can always appeal it by sending in a ticket on the website.

If you were truly afk Dolmen farming there would be a static charge that would kill you pretty quickly. They put this in to shut afk dolmen farming down a long time ago. You should be fine.

If you've been actively controlling your character, i.e. you aren't away from keyboard and you aren't using programs/macros for movement, you'll be fine. ZOS can tell the difference between players who are actually playing versus those who bot using their server data.

In the event that ZOS does in fact take any action you feel is unjustified, you can appeal. You'll want to start a Support ticket or reply to the email they send. Keep track of any ticket numbers - you can even post them here for the ZOS folks on the forum to see - and keep replying to anything they send you.

One thing you can do now is to report those players for harassment if you so desire. ZOS can investigate that as well, though they won't tell you the results.

There's a spot in Alik'r where people still attempt it somewhat frequently, whether or not they are successful I can't say, but it's pretty obvious when you see it.

What’s a steamer streaming dolmens for ANYWAYS LOL. I wouldn’t worry. Nobody’s watching that crap.

Nah maybe just insulted them a lil on the nice but poisondripping side, as for the streamer... I do think you can sue people for Public Slander? Any lawyers about with a sense of justice?

Try not to let it bother you as I doubt you have anything to worry about. Actually, it's kind of silly. I've run a gazillion dolmens to level up various characters/skills. Never once did I take the time to notice if someone else was ‘AFK Bot Grinding’, let alone call them out on it. Much too busy killing, looting, and running to the next dolmen.

Seriously though, just forget these morons and go back to enjoying the game.

If you can't get past the paranoia, just drop ZOS a line about the incident.

I don't think you have anything to fear. ZOS turns to the logs to see if a report is legitimate and what was going on, and if they do they will immediately see you are not a bot. Besides, considering the time it takes for ZOS to do anything about reported real bots, if they do anything at all, you certainly have nothing to be worried about.

Relax, shrug off the toxic waste they threw your way from your shoulders and keep having a wonderful time in the game.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I’m just really worried that after the streamer accused me, claimed he and 10 other players reported me. I hope nothing happens, but I’m confident Zenimax will have look at my account history and see that I’m not a botter like these players are accusing me of being. I’m just edge my autism is giving me great anxiety. I’m certain everything will be fine.

@Katrk - have a hug. Seriously, even if all those people reported you, ZOS WILL check the entire thing. It would be really nice if all those people who reported were the ones who got actioned.

@katrk I highly doubt any actions will be taken against you. I have reported many many bots that are obvious bots and nothing has been done about them. So I'm sure your safe.

Don't worry about it. Some time ago something similar happened to me. But I have a healthy level of snark, so instead of reporting them, I egged them on. I only moved from one spot to a second spot, then back to the first and only did light bow attacks. Didn't even bother to loot the chest. I did this at the same dolm for several respawns and never responded to their multiple whispers. They got frustrated and left long before a ran out of snark. I was never banned nor even received any warning from ZOS.

All of those kinds of whispers are just bravado and don't mean anything.

where you the sorc that was in the ruined Aswala stables, running side to side against the walls in a stall (still running while against the wall), shooting arrow barrage to exactly the same spot every 10 seconds, followed by a self heal, and sending your pet out to attack anything that came by?

psst....that's not doing the dolmen grind. if that was you, this one timed your shots and heals, they didn't vary at all.

i dont believe that zos has people who investigate such complaints and they record every our movement or word. imagine how many people do they need daily to work through all complaints from salty kids. its just a waste of money. maybe they have a script which starts to log your activities after a certain quantity of complaints then analyzes the log and if something has been found it can report to moderator.

fair enough. your implications are obvious and valid. however, the running in place against a wall in a corner in the stall seemed particularly botty, especially when it continued unchanged for at least the 4 hours -this one- did grind the dolmems.

If you respond to them in any way that should be proof enough you are not a bot. If they continue jabbing at you after that report them. They are the ones closer to breaking the terms we all agreed to.

this is indeed probably what will happen. The purpose of reporting a player is for zenimax to investigate. It is hoped by both the reporters and the innocent among the reported that ZOS has the appropriate tools for investigating properly.

i would think that all would agree that it's in nobody's interest that real bots get away with it. more importantly, i would also think that all would agree that it is equally in everyone's interest that those innocent of botting do not get punished for it.

so surely you have nothing to fear if you weren't using some kind of 3rd party script to enable the game to "play itself" (ie. botting).
