What would you like to see as a major new system for ESO?

    Improve Existing Combat Systems (New active ability slot, new resource mechanic, passive ability slot, Spears for 1H and 2H, Crossbows for Bows, Melee weapon for Destro Staves, Justice System, CP Overhaul, etc)
    Custom classes. You can either choose one of the core classes, or you can create your own by mixing & matching the 3 class skill trees.

    Ex: Dark Summoner class: Shadow + Grave Lord + Daedric Summoning

    Oh man, I've kept thinking for a while about how much I'd like to see a spear line. I've gotta post again to say it since the idea really hasn't left my head since.

    I feel like it would be a bit tough to put it in since we've got 79+ crafting styles and versions, but that also allows for them to make spears that look like pikes, halberds, etc. Also the motif pages - would they add a 15th, or would it be easiest to just change the 'daggers' page to spears and then unlock the daggers with the swords?

    But I'd love to see them put it in. I'm curious to see what the chapter next year will entail, since each did come with something (MW -> Warden, SS -> Jewelery, Els -> Necro). I'm interested to check out the Necromancers when Elsweyr comes to DLC, but if they give us spears in the future, I'll probably have to buy that chapter outright.

    (Side note: please also give us the option to choose our tutorial as well...)

    Spell Crafting (Craftable skills with a defined ruleset that doesn't replace Class identity, instead reinforces it, eg only 1 single target dot, 1 aoe dot, etc)
    Spell crafting and it must be implemented correctly.

    1. Every player no matter what play style in both PvE and PvP must be given a fair chance at obtaining ALL of the spells that come with it. This means, they must be obtained in various places within zones where players can go to collect the required ingredients.

    2. They should be diverse and include many spells that benefit Pet, Dot, and any other type of skill for different play-styles.

    3. They must not replace or render any class skills useless.

    4. Obviously, they must be balanced so they are neither overpowered nor too weak.

    That is all.

    If we look at the past 5 years of ESO, many new systems were released that pushed ESO to be better than it was before, a more complete package. The past year has clearly been a year of change and reinforcing the base game for ZOS, but because of this, we have seen very little in terms of mixing up how the game is played. While I mostly agree with the direction ZOS is taking this year because these changes needed to be done for the future health of the game..

    The future doesn’t look entirely interesting without any new system on the horizon and the DLCs lacking more than they have in the past. Dragonhold, the most recent zone DLC has no Arena or mini-trial, typically the time we would see Ability-Altering Weapons.

    Notable Improvements in order of release (IMO):
    • Craglorn: End game overland zone (dead)
    • Imperial City DLC 1: Only DLC focused on pvp (now free for all)
    • Orsinium DLC 2: Maelstrom Arena (only solo End Game content to date)
    • Justice System + Champion Points introduced with Vet Ranks (Update 6)
    • Thieves Guild DLC 3: New zone, new skill line w/ special Thieving quests, Trial MOL
    • Dark Brotherhood DLC 4: New zone, new skill line w/ special Dark Brotherhood quests, Champion Points replace Vet Ranks
    • One Tamriel: Dueling introduced, Weapon Ultimates, level scaling and alliance overworld open for all. (Update 12)
    • Homestead: Housing (Update 13)
    • Morrowind Chapter: New class + Battlegrounds (now free for all)
    • Outfit System: Can use any styles learned account wide as a costume with dyable parts (Update 17)
    • Summerset Chapter: New active ability skill line + jewelry crafting.
    • Elsweyr Chapter: New class + Dragons.
    • Dragonhold: Nothing. More zone overland content.

    I highlighted DLC 1-4 because they brought in many major improvements, we don’t currently expect from our DLC. Following the introduction of Chapter releases, we started to expect a mini trial OR an arena from Zone DLC. This year, Dragonhold didn’t bring any of these new features that we’ve come to expect making it the most disappointing DLC for many of the player base.

    So I made a poll for some of the most notable improvements I've seen people request. Since "Other" would be too broad and get mostly selected as everyone has a unique opinion, choose 1 of the broader selection options and feel free to explain what you would want to see within that system. Please think about what would sell you on playing ESO beyond 2020 or what would make you purchase the newest chapter. What would get you excited for ESO's future? How can ZOS inovate and make ESO bigger and better than it was before. I understand people get excited for more Trials, Zone exploration, Dungeons, Story quests, stability and bug fixes, etc. Those are not new systems, there things we have come to expect.

    I would either like to see a dedicated server for underage players and people that act like kids. I would like to see a dedicated adult-only server. I am so tired of playing with kids. Or possibly private servers. I like ESO online but what I don't like is having to play online with other people. I know that defeats the whole purpose of online. But I really don't care.

    And about a new Guild Skill line, we just got the Psijic skill line and the way we have to level it up, it's just awful!
    Pfffffttttt.... its dead easy, just a little running around.
    Try levelling TG or DB instead, those I found a lot more tedious!

    Nah, easiest would be to just add them to staves, much like swords covers both 1H and 2H versions.
    And maybe crossbows to "bow" and maybe a throwing weapon to "daggers"...

    After thinking about it further, of the options listed, I would choose this one, particularly for either sword & spell or additional options for magicka weapons. A staff may be fitting for many magicka characters, but not all, and I wish there were other options or at least a few magicka morphs for weapons. A see my magicka nightblade as an third/assassin mage and a staff really doesn’t fit this for me, yet obviously they must carry some weapon and anything but staff severely mitigate the effectiveness of light and heavy attacks.

    Graphics/Animation Overhaul (Update to the current engine)
    Better graphics, more sturdy servers (even ditch the mega server thing and have just loads of smaller ones, really, nobody would mind), and ultimately just make the game more immersive. You still don't get the expected TES feeling when playing ESO, the world doesn't draw you in the way the earlier games did. Content, combat, skills etc. are not the problem, there's loads of stuff to do already.

    More PvP modes would be cool, such as 1v1, 1v1v1, 2v2, 2v2v2 deathmatch, domination, etc. Hopefully they develop a lobby system or organised Battlegrounds menus as well.

    I hope for new maps, such as the Kvatch colosseum, or new colosseum in Daedric pocket realms, Elsweyr sparring grounds, Dwemer ruins, etc. The possibilities are endless and it can't be that hard to do.

    User created Battlegrounds maps would be fun as well, as the home making community has shown tremendous skill and creativity with the building engine.

    • More utilization of the grappling hook. They could add some awesome puzzles and exploration possibilities with it.
    • More mini games, cards, frog racing, SOMETHING
    • Alchemy gardens for housing.
    • Some sea based missions on ships involving giant monsters coming out of the depths to attack.
    • Overhaul of events to make them more engaging and interesting.

    Improve performance and I would be completely content.

    First, the graphics is badly optimized. I mean having a top quality PC optimized for gaming and sometimes getting ~20 FPS randomly in some old trials or even in non-instanced zones without many players or clutter in a game developed in the previous decade is ridiculous. If such a computer has trouble rendering, I can't even imagine how an older PC - my old one dropped to single digits - or console - which is even poorer than that - handles it.

    Second, improve the server. Some days you get random lag although your net is fine, or you can't even connect to it. And the Divines forbid there's and ongoing event because you have to basically spam the login, and get "account already logged out" messages 20 times until you can enter, then you have a 50/50% probability of hitting an infinite loading screen when changing zones or instances, getting booted back and then having to redo everything from scratch. Do whatever they need: purge bot and free accounts that haven't logged in for 3 months, archive the paid ones that are inactive for longer and whatever they need to do to have that database in working order - AFAIK those login problems were linked to database and they're working on it ATM.

    I don't care much about new classes, skills, skill lines etc. In fact when they did introduce new classes they messed up combat for at least 6 months: first the Morrowind sustain nerfs, loss of class identity for Templar and DK - because they gave the buffs to Warden - and it took almost a year to recover from; second the overtuned colossus for Necromancer in Elsweyr, then the subsequent over-buff to dots in Scalebreaker, then the knee-jerk nerf to them in Dragonhold. IMO the game is fine even in the long run with the classes we have now, and adding more will just dilute them to the point you end up where you'll end up with 10 class abilities that do the same thing and just have different animations. I would prefer that they stick to the 6 we have, and improve them to consolidate class identity, make things unique, have good class and passive interaction and that kind of work. So quality, not quantity.

    A new skill line every couple of years is manageable and doesn't disrupt balance too much. For example the Psijic skill was OK, it had a few glitches but they were fixed fast.
