Came to see the lag, was impressed by 1st person healing. Awesomeness.
Oh and lag seems bad yeah on that video. Yesterday evening i was at Cyrodiil, surprisingly was not bad other than for a short moment i`m remembering.
I see the new turn based combat system is going well.Nemesis7884 wrote: »Lady_Linux wrote: »you mean the freezing screen that keeps me from doing much of anything while playing?
yes, its intended to help you think about your next move!
THANKS ZOS!
Looks more like your potatoe can't handle playing and streaming/recording at the same time.

My thoughts exactly. How on earth does anyone make it through a dungeon in first person? Only watched the first few minutes and people were popping in and out of healer's field of vision. Anyway, more power to you if you can make it work!

You play pvp in 1st person also? If so.. big respect!
How does it go?
Would imagine huge extra challenge, but immersive.. like being in a horror movie where has to look every way all the time in panic when death can come fast from anywhere like some weird Slender Man in a Hollowjack outfit spamming bow attacks.

From memory the OP is using an rx570 for 4k gaming - it will definatly be struggling hence why i suggested they show FPS and latency also next time
I am getting something similar on Mac-NA. Except with me the pauses are sometimes long enough for me to take a drink of water.
Seriously, do the 5 “Mississippi” count to get an idea about how long the pauses sometimes are.
And frequent crashes in southern elsweyr.
/sigh

Everything but you will be frozen. You can still move around when the server is lagged because your client isnt lagging. Just any interaction with objects such as NPCS, doors, wayshrines wont work. But you can run all over the local area when the server is lagged.
When its your system, everything will freeze. It freezes until whatever hardware catches up and then you get a burst of play and then freeze while it catches up and then it will send another burst. Id bet $100 bill there is hardware on your PC that is spiking when that happens. And if i was a bettin' man id say its probably going to be your CPU is processing fast enough. The CPU has to compress that 4k video to stream it.
When that happens, running task manager in the background, alt tab to task manager and see what is spiking. CPU, memory, disk, or GPU. that will tell you where your problem is assuming the ping is really good. A great graphics card isnt enough to cut it for this game. You need a solid CPU, system ram, and HDD( SSD is better).
If youre trying to play in 4k and stream in like 1080p, you are going to need a really high end PC. Like an i9 processor, 32 GB ram, RTX card, and a 500GB SSD or bigger. That video has to be encoded and then uploaded. Your inet is fine. 5 mbps is enough to stream at 60 fps in 1080p. The encoding is going to be a resource hog though and so is ESO. So you need a high end machine to run two resource hogs at the same time.

my system seems to be doing well while playing at 1080p in obs it stream ok too now that i have it set up. i'll see about more ram as it has dropped in price and maybe a better processor eventually but i have a limited income so cpu will have to wait.

Is that really correct about the difference between server lag issues & hardware lag issues?
I ask as most of the lag/freezing/then being kicked out of the game then appears to be hardware based, not server.
But then I am a ps4 pleb (though game has been generally ok until very recently) - lot of pvp guildmates getting dc’d constantly & nearly giving up - if is a console issue & not necessarily the servers that would be good to know.
