Hey,

havent played for a while and right now on wow classic, but considering coming back to eso. Would bei cool If some1 could answer those questions:

1. How is ESO doing in general? Before elsweyr u had the "feeling" of playing the most successfull MMORPG.
2. I did read something about they wanted to focus on perforemance, especially FPS/lags in cyro/raids - did things improve?
3. Any rumours/announcemsnts for the upcoming chapter in April/May? Or is it cancelled due to the perforemance focus?
4. Is the raiding/PvP Community still "healthy'?
5. Are there any terrible metas like "proc sets meta" in PvP right now?

Thanks guys for helping me out!

Why do you need to ask these questions to decide to come back to play it or not? If you havn’t played it for a while and miss it, then just play it. If you played a lot and got bored then take a break play something else.
The game has been good or bad according to each person is different.

    1. I think it's going great, I enjoy it very much.
    2. & 3. They are working on it, you can read an update here: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/503224/activity-finder-server-performance-update#latest
    4. It was either never or always "healthy", depending on individual experiences and opinions.
    5. This is a question not easily answered and is imbued with personal views. I tend to lean towards a no, but I'm sure there are those who have an opposite opinion.

Read the first page of forum threads. Tons of people giving opinions about how the game is doing.

Things haven't really changed that much, in the sense that if you liked it before you still will, if you didn't like it before you still won't. If you're on PC EU then depending on your playstyle performance may be worse than it was, or pretty much the same. Similarly, depending on your playstyle then recent combat changes etc may impact on you positively or negatively, or they may not affect you at all.

There's no way of knowing how your experience will go other than by playing and seeing.

    1. Great. I enjoy it very much. I've played numerous MMORPG's over 10+ years and ESO is definitely on my top list.

    5. Again, depends on individual preferences and/or gaming style. I lean towards a no, but I'm sure someone else has a different view.

Thanks you - the Update about perforemance seems like they didnt really improved cyro/raids FPS/lag problems but trying to fix dungeonfinder lol.

Everything else have been answered so I'm just going to say re point 3 that there was just yesterday leaked a datamine of the next chapter, just hit recent it should be on the first page. So performance focus aside another chapter is still coming.
Makes sense as it would be two different teams.

In their defense they're not done yet and won't be until early 2020.

Lag is worse than ever. Its bleeding into pve more and more.

They keep making drastic changes that nobody is asking for.

Nerfs to class defining skills to make classes more unique.

Failure to fix persistent bugs, group finder recently took out undaunted festival and is currently causing issues with other aspects of the game.

Racial passives that didnt work took weeks to acknowledge and weeks to fix.

If they dont right the ships performance they'll bleed out and unfortunately they are in no rush to fix the issues.

If you pvp, that's dying, fast due to crippling lag in the only server that has pop, vet cp pc na. It's basically down to 2 factions, ep and dc. I rarely see a consistent ad pop and 1 faction tends to dominate the map.

Ultimately its up to you if you come back, but dont expect things to be better then when you left.

If I think of more I'll edit the post.

    1. Depends what do you mean by successfull. PC EU has such big population servers can't handle some aspects of the game, so it looks like its doing well, but those performance issues may cause a bit of troubles if not solved fast.
    2. Yup, they are constantly working on it. Is it working is completly other topic.
    3. I simply have no knowledge about this.
    4. Raiding? Nothing has change I think. PvP? In general after big drop of population campaigns became locked for hours during prime time again.
    5. Actually this is one of the healthiest patches we ever had. There is almost nothing that can be considered as meta. You can see it by watching build vids, almost every build is made differently and focuses on different aspects of the combat.
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    1) A dumpster fire has more going for it at the moment. Can't say I've ever had the "feeling" of this game being the most successful MMORPG ever. Did it have it's good moments, sure but no where near most successful.
    2) Yes they claim they wanted to improve things. Things have actually gotten worse IMO.
    3) Don't know but they sure as hell won't cancel a chapter/DLC just to work on fixing stuff. They'll do what they've been doing for years. Keep on pumping out chapters/DLC while the game suffers and the bugs continue to add up.
    4) Stopped doing both a while ago due to how bad performance is and because of the constant buff/nerf cycle.
    5) Don't know since I'm no longer doing PVP but just to give you a clue of how bad this combat team is with things, the first two week of the last PTS for the newest DLC, stam users were slotting staffs on their back bars.... Yes they change it, but only after a huge outcry.

This is all my opinion so take it with a grain of salt. There will be those that agree with it and those that disagree.
