What to do with Champion Points?

Sorry for the seriously boring question but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment as I've just hit level 50, but have no idea how to effectively allocate Champion Points!

I'm new to MMO's and have basically just been playing the game as I played Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. Essentially running around doing loads of quests as a Stamplar as i'm not interested in PvP.

I know that good practice when starting out is to allocate ALL attribute points to one area (so I now have 64 in stamina) however now when allocating Champion Points should I adopt the same philosophy and load just one area or should the points be more evenly allocated across all of the Star Signs in each constellation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers & Beers

Don't worry about it too much, you can always respec your points.

Just look for bonuses that fit/aid your playstyle and spend your points there.

Just pile them in straight damage, damage reduction, and primary resource management early on, spreading out too much with few points does nothing for you. Every partial percentage does not count, only full numbers so sticking them all in one is better than trying a few until 600+ points.

The more points you put into a specific node, the less it increases. For example the first 50 points you allocate may enhance something by 20%, but the next 50 points may only enhance by 10%. I don't remember the exact numbers, but it's something to keep an eye on.

Bear in mind you get diminishing returns, you can find guides online but basically there are 'sweet spots' for the numbers. Look at the bonuses you unlock too and make sure you don't leave yourself a couple of points shy of getting something cool. Also respeccing champ points can be done anytime from the CP screen and its not terrible expensive, so don't worry if you need to rejig them a bit.

Since youre Stamina, youre gonna want to allocate your points to stamina based buffs. Physical penetration, physical damage, weapon critical, stamina recovery etc. However because your brand new, youre not going to see any meaningful change until youve gotten a couple hundred. The increases per point are miniscule.

@SirAndy @phaneub17_ESO @mateosalvaje @Shardaxx @ArchMikem @TempPlayer thank you very much for your input. I know this is all very obvious for the vets amongst you but for the noob's it's all a bit mind blowing.

If all else fails, Alcast has some guides for your build that can give you a good ides where to begin. Alcast is a nice jumping off point. You can follow them until you get a sense of what and how they work.

I simply must protest. There are no Penguin avatars for me to use in the forums.

Don't get too caught up with where you put the CP early on. Much of the benefit comes from placing the first 300 placed anywhere.

When you hit CP160, which is item cap, that is when you should probably reset wherever you put it and probably look at a guide on how to you should place your points. Reason being, is that is when you can start looking at actually farming the good gear and you would want to optimized. Any point prior to CP160 and you can simply play the game naked with one eye closed, it is all XP grinding until CP160.
