Will Bluescreens Affect my PS4?

Hello,

Since Dragonhold, I have seen a tremendous increase in bluescreens. At least three to four times of gameplay a day. Sometimes they happen while playing, like for instance two days ago, in the middle of vAS+1 fight. Today in vHOF.

And sometimes they happen while I'm just standing still doing nothing. I'm of course not the only one.

My concern is if this is negatively affecting the health of my PS4? And if any one has any solutions to these constant crashes, except rebuilding database or waiting on the developers to do something, I am all ears.

I don't think it would have a negative impact on your PS4. I've been dealing with constant and consistent blue screens since the Clockwork city DLC

Well that's a relief to know.

They won't do anything to your console. Don't do anything that ZOS suggests about it because it won't work (I tried it). Rebuilding your database is basically a hard drive defragmentation. While it's worth doing it every patch, it's not the source of the problem. Recent patch just has some coding flaw that makes the game crash (console blue screen)

Don't think the blue screens harm it, it's just the game software suddenly quitting and shutting off the game, essentially. Now, if it was totally locking up/hard-freezing your console leaving you no choice but to hard restart it, THAT would cause concern for eventual hardware damage.

Also, ZOS is aware and working on an incremental patch that is supposed to fix it. Saw Gina say that in one of the other threads. They are hoping to release it early December.

You should probably get that fixed.

Actually the crash is due to the ps4 using too much processing power due to the new data that eso requires. There is a mem leak somewhere so once that's fixed it should get better. I personally have not had a blue screen, but my ps4 is new and well maintained. Overheating can also be a cause. As for OP its EXTREMELY rare that any harm comes to the ps4, at worst you will need to do the old unplug from wall for 5 mins.
