Make "something like" the craft bag part of base game

HI ZOS, your game is going downhill, everyone who has been around for years knows it. I used to have a friend list with 100 players, I had to check it and was down to only 60 players after deleting all the people who wont log in for 6 months or more...

This game feels like you need to pay ESO+ MOSTLY because of the craft bag, you keep monetizing this and making it harder and harder to manage without it, adding more materials, sets, furniture, etc, etc

Yeah, game needs to grow
Yeah, hoarding is bad, but is harder not to do it with every patch
IT'S BEEN a long time since you helped people with inventory management.
CHESTS were a lazy solution, you have to interrupt your journey to go to your house and check where you left X or Y item

So, want to show you care more about people who plays it, make the craft bag part of the game base, or something like it, if server can manage the craft bag it can manage something like NO INFINITE SPACE, but 1000 space for mats, beyong that you need ESO+

People will return and will pay ESO+ to show apreciation when things start to get better

PS: the pig with 5 slots, REALLY?

Not this again, not happening. Sub for Fitbit dont get it till the eso+ trail they hand out. Also eso is not going downhill YET. Compared to a bunch of mmos I have played this year that literally closed in 4 -8 months this game is doing good.

yes, a craft bag which would only allow one stack of each would be great, so not infinite

It is highly unlikely they will ever release the full craft bag for non subs. It's the entire reason that many people sub to begin with. It would be a monetary loss for the company. I'd drop my sub instantaneously if this were to happen. The idea that people would sub to "show appreciation" isn't very realistic. A small percentage would do so.

Now, if they wanted to release a limited craft bag to everyone and possibly allow you to buy upgrades in the crown store, this might be something they would look at. Start with this if you're really looking for a free craft bag because it at least has a glimmer of a chance of happening.

Craft bag is one of the biggest reasons people pay for ESO+. Not a chance it will ever be part of the base game.

You don’t need crafting bags, just put all mats in bank, all gears in storage boxes, label each box like for stam dps, mag dps, tank, healer, and store some specific gear on each toon. You’ll still be left with some empty storage boxes for extra mats you don’t usually use.

No, they do that and you know how many people with get pissed that they’ve been paying for it and all of a sudden it’s free? They would lose many people currently paying for it.

People who are leaving the game probably would leave even if they had a crafting bag. Inventory isn't a make or break issue.
Chests were a great solution. I have armor sets in mine that I currently do not use but may somewhere down the line. Also a great place to stick motifs while waiting for prices to increase.

The thing about inventory is any time it is increased we are all happy for a couple of days then that space gets filled and we start complaining how dare they give us such a small increase to inventory. If you have an inventory problem you would soon have an inventory problem even with a finite amount of space craft bag. You will fill the bag then complain that you need more space.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

Inventory management is deliberately designed that way. ZOS knows this, that is why they sell you craft bag with a monthly fee to unscrew you. They designed the game to screw you initially so now you would be forced to pay them later, to unscrew you.
"Introduce a problem and then sell a solution for it."

And it is a kind of a problem you would not notice at first, when you start playing the game. Only when you invest more time and effort you realize this, but now it is to late to back off, so you are more likely to pay for something that should be a part of base experience.

Why else they would introduce +5 inventory space per character (one time payment) ? They could introduce +5 bank space upgrade. Or better, allow us to upgrade bank more than 240, with RL cash or for some ridiculous high money sink (like +1M gold or something).

But they went with +5 inventory upgrade. Why ? To do a bare minimum, and keep inventory management mini-game, and make some cash of those who dont use ESO+.

As for the "craft bag for everyone" I would say this:
    - It is a part of ESO+ so if they do so, they will make some ESO+ "payers" angry (not that this is a lot and personally I would not mind if they did, but I can understand why they dont do so).
    - Alternative way is to simply move bank space cap +10 slots up for every owned Chapter / story DLC. So if you buy those, you can upgrade bank for gold.

    Not gonna happen.
I mean, how would it benefit ZOS to give out stuffs for free that people pay money for? Yeah, it might get more people (freeloading), but it certainly would loose them some subscriptions as some of those would ask "What the heck am I paying for, then?"

What -might- happen is that they could sell it in the crown store as extra unlock at some point.

And then... give those who DO pay for ESO+ some other goodie... like... a "furniture bag"? ;)
(Gods, I would want that one so bad, to keep from having to juggle characters for furniture transfers... just buy on the main, stuff goes into furniture bag, and place whenever... also, no more event furniture clutter! AND no issues with redoing your house but not having the inventory to store -everything- for new placement...)
    BuildMan wrote: »

Since ESO+ is generally a recurring thing...
...oh, well, I suppose they -could- make a "1 month ESO+" giftable in the crown store...

Every time someone posts another thread begging for them to get the Craft Bag for something less than Subscription, the Devs have to buy the Marketing Guy who came up with that idea a beer.

    Seriously, its their best moneymaker.

And really, as a non-subscriber, I see no reason why it shouldn't remain a subscription-only benefit.

Its not like I don't already take advantage of the ESO+ free trials to:
    1. Stuff my Craft Bag full of enough mats to last me for a year of writs
    2. Dye all my costumes
    3. Fill up my houses to max limit with furniture
    4. Get any DLC dungeon gear I want

I fully admit that I mooch off of ESO+ free trials whenever they come around.
If you want the Craft Bag, just sub.

Did it ever occur to you that the the ESO+ subscribers make up large portion of the costs of the game? What use would a lot of more freebie players be if the subscription rate drops as a tradeoff? I have a feeling that dropping revenue would kill off the game faster than dropping numbers of players ... Besides, the EU server would like to have a word with you about your declining player interest theory.

I play since beta and of the people on my friends list I made in those 5 years, roughly 70% have been online in the last four weeks. I did not add that many friends in the last two years, so I guess I could push that percentage if I really cared; in my opinion the declining player base is an absolute myth. This is not saying that ESO doesn't have major problems, but the craft bag surely isn't one of them.

Since the inventory really is one of the major subscription selling points, what I would like to have, and what's bothers the most, is not more space, but furniture needs to be same as mats bag.

Since Zos pretty much knows the crafting bag is the biggest reason many subscribe since it costs less to buy all DLCs released in a year than to pay the annual rate. As such OP's idea makes no sense. The business logic is not there.
