What are 3 things from any Chapters/DLC that you disliked and 3 things that brought you joy?

I personally missed out on the survey and look forward to giving at least a little feedback on what some of my bad and good experiences have been for the content that's being released. Try and be specific and give useful data if you could. Performance issues and combat changes are VERY valid complaints, but they are mostly unrelated to the topic and don't provide any new information to the developers. Here, I'll start.

Three things that have made a Chapter/DLC less fun than other ones:
  • In Morrowind and especially Northern Elsweyr, too many buildings were locked off and unavailable to explore which killed the exploration experience for me, leaving me feeling mostly sad while wandering around. This contributed to me losing interest in the content as a whole and not completing most of the quests.
  • I didn't enjoy the Necro class as much as the Warden. Many of the skills on the Necro feel directly dependent on something that's not always happening (dead corpses) and the other skills don't feel as unique and interesting as other class skills. Don't get me wrong, the skills LOOK cool, but most of their functions are underwhelming, healing especially.
  • There are a lot of furniture items and paintings in Elsweyr that I see but that never became available as patterns or drops. This, in addition to not having any new furnishing pattern drops in Southern Elsweyr, felt like a very negative experience, like we were not getting similar rewards as other Chapters/DLCs.
Three things in Chapters/DLCs that I really enjoyed and would like to see more of:
  • It's a small thing, but the only saving grace for Morrowind for me was that I could steal motifs from NPCs. This felt like the first time since the Justice System had been released where something new was being added to the thieving loot tables that was both rewarding and fun. I really liked having to progress through the story and through Legerdemain to have a better chance at motif drops and very much enjoyed the added fun this gave to exploration when looking for the perfect NPCs to poach off of. I expected I would see more of this in other Chapters but it hasn't returned, which has always bummed me out.
  • Geysers in Summerset and Dragons in Elsweyr: I think these were great additions. Although not as dynamic and unexpected as I would like to see this type of content, it's always nice to see more situations you can happen by and fight off with random groups of strangers. I liked the scaling of these events and the rewards. I would love to see this type of content advance in future chapters to be even better scaled and maybe even more mobile.
  • Southern Elsweyr is a wanders dream. I've never mentioned this before, but I think it's worth mentioning now. I had a ton of fun exploring all the buildings, rotted foundations, and homeless scaffolding in Senchal. There was so much to see and to steal in such a unique and interesting area. I haven't had that much fun doing nothing that matters since Wrothgar released. Black Heights was also a very notable place to just take everything in. The painted rocks, open structures, the Colorworks building. Oh my god, I didn't even need to do the quests there to fully enjoy the area. In fact, I haven't even done those quests yet. I also thought you did a wonderful job revamping the dragons. Southern Elsweyr honestly felt like the "Chapter" to me and Northern Elsweyr the DLC. Thank you for all the love you put into this place. As a sidenote: Murkmire was immersive as it gets as well: the music, the long grass you can get lost in, the incredibly unique quests, all the cool furnishing patterns I could steal... just such an amazing job there. It goes to show, when you have more time to work on an area, you guys can really f'ing nail it.

    Enjoyed CLC:
    1-Sotha Sil
    2-CLC zone aesthetics
    3-Enjoyable quests.

    Dislike Summerset
1-The idea of a magical island/fantasy architecture was broken.
2-Psijic Order not so mystic / Skill line grind was a torture and boring.
    3-Ayrenn was not present.

    Was nice to play:
-new classes were fun so start with (warden, necro)
-the new bards' songs from Elsweyr
-Summerset had a pretty landscape, fitting the Altmer

Was not so nice to play or even horrible:
    - Elsweyr-Story about dragons and Imperials... expected more Khaiit-themed quests and content... so very disapointing
    - Strange splitting of Elsweyr... where is the middle of elsweyr? o_O
    - landscape of Elsweyr... from all I heared in the other TES games about Elsweyr, I expected something different esspecially in north Elsweyr. Where are the warm sands Khajiit talk about all the time?

    Less fun things:
    • SUNSPIRE. I will complain about this for as long as I play the game. It's so. damn. tedious. Boring bosses punctuated by even worse mechanics that are clearly filler for the lack of content. Do we really need to do the "dragon flies around in the air while we fight waves of adds" thing THREE TIMES for the first two dragons and then FOUR FLIPPING TIMES on the last? Like holy hell, it's *actually* painful for me. Normal is pure torture, and it's not that much better on vet.
    • Elsweyr as a whole feels bland and lifeless- like you, one of my major criticisms is the preponderance of buildings that you can’t enter- sometimes entire areas are like that. I have no real reason to go back, nor do I ever feel compelled to.
    • The Vvardenfell main quest- Vivec felt flat. Based on his sermons, which are absolutely batsh*t, I feel like they could have given him a LOT more personality and made him a LOT more interesting. There’s so much material to work with when it comes to Vivec and I’m not quite sure why that wasn’t incorporated. Aside from the whole “sleeping with Molag Bal” thing and the like…

    Things I enjoyed:
    • Sotha Sil- a “nailed it” characterization for sure. Both Almalexia and Vivec are rather forgettable in ESO, but Sotha Sil is incredible. That level of character complexity seems rather rare in ESO and after the events of Morrowind, it was amazing to see him come to life and to get his thoughts and opinions -and to see his regret- on the Nerevar situation and to see that the Brass Fortress in an extension of himself and to learn more through that (the factotum non-sequiturs, and if you listen sometimes they’ll mention “prospect Almalexia: negative”, which seems to indicate that Sil knows what’s going to eventually happen). I’ve become somewhat of a Tribunal lore nerd, and his portrayal was just so satisfying.
    • The Warden class. My main is a magden and I've got a stamden as well and they're both super fun to play. Magden especially- the class is really strong right now but even with all of its benefits, it’s still not getting enough love. It’s really versatile -I can go from a DPS machine to tank-y to heal-y easily depending on the situation- and loaded with self-buffs, which are only rendered redundant in highly organized trials, the likes of which I don’t actually plan on experiencing.
    • The Summerset main quest. I avoided this for a long time because I thought it would be tedious like the Psijic questline. To be honest, I only started it because I liked the CWC quest so much. I’m glad I did. It was emotionally brutal though… I actually teared up a bit when I got to the top of the crystal tower and (I’ll put a spoiler here even though this is two years old)
everyone was dead/gone, especially Darien, who I liked a lot
. Regardless, good times were had. Daedra were dealt with. Lots and lots of urns were looted. It was a very pleasant surprise

I like when things make its way out of dlcs into the rest of the world. Like the hiding baskets from Thieves Guild and the Blade of Woe from Dark Brotherhood. Hopefully the grappling hook from Murkmire or Southern Elsweyr make it into other parts of the game.

I don’t like having a new tutorial every time there is a new release.

When a certain type of gameplay doesn’t leave its original zone, that’s disappointing.

Meh, I don't see it funny at all. Humor is subjective, of course, but I remember a thread on the forum, where people told that those are bad kind of jokes as well. So I'm not alone in such opinion. Bluntly speaking, it's foolishness and lack of options. For example, I'd like to tell Lady Laurent, that she cross the line, or tell Stibbons, that he should reconsider his service to this cruel lady, take a stance maybe. Cut it short, I consider such stories badly written, they don't amuse me, and I feel only frustration moving through them.

    Interesting question.

I found it hard to think of 3 things about the game that really brought me joy and I found it very hard to only list 3 things that disappoint me

    Joy
My friends, guild mates and other players who make this game fantastic. Playing alongside you is what keeps me coming back
The gameworld that has been created
The sense of total elation when I finally conquer a particularly hard piece of content

    Disappointment
Awful performance of PC EU - a year of genuine failure
ZOS’s attitude - at times it really feels like they do not give a toss
Gleeful monetisation of the game - I don’t like seeing this in a paid for game with subscriptions

The joyful elements are things I will remember for years, the disappointments are things I’d like to be corrected tomorrow.

I always like the expansions but find the DLC's a bit lacking.

Expansions always give us something new that changes up the game significantly.
    - Morrowind: New class and Battlegrounds introduced!
    - Summerset: Transmog, jewelry crafting, and a new skill line!
    - Elsweyr: Another new class!

That's the kind of stuff that excites me.

I think Southern Elsweyr's zone design is the best I've seen yet in the game. I often go there just to run around and collect mats while waiting in BG queues. I can tell a lot of care and attention was put into the zone design. Although I wish I had more of a reason to go there, often times the beauty is reason enough. I also really like how you can get cosmetic rewards for random side quests. Good way to incentivize players to check out the whole map.

    Disliked:
    1. In Morrowind, so many buildings were closed off and the cities felt incomplete. This was very blaring with the ‘under-construction’ Vivec which was clearly an excuse not to finish the area.
    2. Morrowind again, the Telvanni towers were done poorly. They look like puke/flesh atronach bits, and the stone foundations for the towers have no basis in the lore.
    3. The architecture in Summerset, while lovely, is not as alien as the lore described it. It was supposed to look like glass or insect wings, and instead it looks like Disney World.

    Likes:
    1. The presence of Telvanni towns. As much as I don’t like the art direction, the fact that I now have a proper Telvanni tower (Tel Galen) for my Telvanni RP is amazing. No more must I use Indoril-styled towns as placeholders.
    2. Sotha Sil in the Clockwork City DLC. He really made me intrigued by the story, which in other zones can sometimes feel skippable. The ending conversation with him was honestly the best part of the DLC.
    3. Necromancer. While the class definitely needs improvement, and it feels flat compared to my previous experience playing sorcerer, I’m really glad it at least exists as i’ve wanted this class since launch.
    With cold regards,
    Mythic

(I'm excluding Wrothgar from this as it feels a tad bit big to put it in the same league.) Thieves Guild DLC. Hew's Bane and specifically Abah's Landing is probably the most fleshed out feeling of cohesiveness in a zone and I don't feel it in any others; Southern Elsweyr came pretty close. There are a ton of places to interact with and a lot of nooks and crannies to investigate. There are many doors that just lead into normal NPC homes and I really wish we could continue getting that sort of city depth in NPC zones and cities just to make the game feel more alive and less like a ghost town.

Morrowind: Whereas Summerset and Northern Elsweyr feel very much interconnected in the story Morrowind feels like it stands alone with it's own interests at heart in the different cities and I loved this feeling. Story spoilers ahead if you haven't finished those zones.
Bergama didn't really care what Vivec needed or that he was losing Divinity. The Telvanni were very much focused on their interests and cared not for many others. The Kwama operation in Gnisis was also it's own standalone location and they all had completely different atmospheres. Summerset felt completely surrounded by the Crystal Tower and very few locations felt like they were in their own seperate interest, Southern Elsweyr even moreso as the only location I can think of that wasn't centered around the stories events was the Anequina Aqueduct which I very much enjoyed.

Southern Elsweyr: This is a point of contention a bit but I really liked the dailies in Southern Elsweyr being worth more than just a bag of armor/crafting style ingredients. The little rewards for reaching the milestones (even if I disagree with two of the milestones being locked behind this) was a good twist and I would really like to see more of this.
I'm talking about the Set Crafting Area, the Achivement Furnisher, and the only one I actually liked is the little daily dragonhold spoils chest that gives you some nifty rewards. That little chest made me actually think I had done something rather than just walking through town hearing "Oh hey he's the hero who saved Almalexia and Vivec but we don't really care he already got a piece of gear and some coin out of it."

    Disliked:
Blocked Buildings: Just all DLC and Chapters in particular for this one, pretty much the entire game. Especially in large thriving cities it seems ridiculous to think that a building is entirely unused or uninhabited. Give me more NPCs homes to interact with and steal from. Give me more easter eggs (Maybe a building is Master Locked and if you go in it's a Black Sacrament ritual location.)

Psijic Questline: This was misery and I never want to see something so uninteresting and counteractive added to the game. This wasn't fun, this wasn't informative, this wasn't skillful, this wasn't challenging. This was a punishment to players who had come to the game for Summerset and had none of the other wayshrines. This was tedious torture at best for those of us who were forced to revisit zones where we had already completed everything.

Patterns and Motifs: For such a massive lucrative money maker for the game it was intensely disappointing to see no new furnishing patterns brought in with Southern Elsweyr. Even moreso it's a shame that with every chapter/dlc some previous items aren't revisited and retroactively added into the game into their respective zones. What I mean by this is it'd be really nice to see some Orcish items from Orsinium added in as a furnishing pattern that you get from that zone to give us a reason to revisit; same with any other DLC or Chapter. There are many furnishings in all of these that just aren't available in game at all.

So little love for Summerset and its architecture. :#

I loved every little thing about Summerset, especially the buildings and the furniture.

And I don't even hate the Psijic questline o:) I can finish it on one character in a day, which, hands down, beats out how long it takes to finish Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood stuff. But, I agree, it wasn't fun at all the first go around. And, um, it's not fun, still, but at least it's pretty fast.

    1. ZOS always places a wayshrine in the most inconvenient places, like on a cliff top.
    2. The amount of characters is not scalable and they now feel like builds I have no attachment to, I want to merge 3 characters into 1 that has 3 loadouts and option for 3 different racials (only 1 at a time).
    3. Sheer amount of garbage mats in the game. Which seems to be compounding.
    4. Game is getting too grindy. The grindy achievements should go account wide, not the ones linked with genuine accomplishments like Dungeon / Vet Dungeon / Quests / Skyshards / Titles.

I have loved Summerset and its quest line and story and beautiful landscape and architecture.
The same as above with bells on for all of Elsweyr which is breathtaking.
    Vvardenfell again great.
The humour and also serious parts which add an elder Scrolls feel to the game and draw you back to the Elder Scrolls games are the best parts. I love to learn new lore and love quests and dialogue that links to other parts of the game.
    Southern Elsweyr spoiler:
For example there is an alfiq in southern elsweyr that talks about being kidnapped by a granny who is obviously the granny Gravius who sends you components in the mail who is a bit nutty.

I didn't like levelling the psijic skill line. It was ok but would have been better if it made it easier to do as you go through Summerset and quests like this should have good hints to location.
I found southern Elsweyr a little frustrating in areas to navigate although it is very beautiful.
I get annoyed when survey maps and treasure chests are hidden up on hills or behind mountains. I swear a lot then

    2. Morrowind and Summerset chapters especially: Not much explorable land really. Too many mountainous areas that restrict travel, and lots of opportunities to fall to my death.
    3. Skill line grinds for advancement. Thieves Guild, Dark Brotherhood, and Psijic skill lines have to be advanced before you can advance the quest lines, and they require tedious and annoying repeat quests to gain levels. I'm currently working on Dark Brotherhood with a second character and I'm already bored to death. I see that I have a full level to go to get to the next story quest and it makes me want to use the Blade of Woe on myself.

    1. Designs are fresh, from delve and dungeon maps, to terrain textures. I like having some variety for my eyes.
    2. Filling in lore gaps. I like reading all of the new lore from the books and engaging every quest in my thirst for knowledge of the Aurbis.
    3. Collection quests. I think these are fun! The museum in Arteum, the wall in Northern Elsweyr, the tapestry in Southern Elsweyr, the Litany of Blood, Kari's Hit List, the museum in Orsinium, etc. There's often a bit of lore for each piece that adds to the fun.
