the way these forums work

I think it's rather stupid that zos removes a thread because a similar post i sup, and has more popularity. it's silly. and I've noticed that as of late zos has been censoring threads that point out the problems, and how they could fix them. it strikes that zos doesn't really care about fixing the problem, and just wants it to stay the way it is. honestly, I feel rather disappointed in them, though they where better than this. but probably no body will read this, because it more than likely has been closed with in 5 seconds of being up,, cos zos doesn't like us point out their faults and making suggestions on how to fix it, like turning these mega servers into shards, so the strain is spread across multiple, and not just one.

so, waiting for zos to come and close this cos I'm making suggestions on how to improve and fix the problems, and pointing out how they've been censoring us.

If you're analyzing the forums to this degree, then I think it's time to take a break. They're just forums. The game is the main attraction.

I have, but after the undaunted debaucle, they kept censoring everyone who called them out on their terrible servers. I'm actually surprised they havent closed this thread.

They don't just close threads that are similar...they'll most often also put a link where you can continue posting on the same topic.

It removes bloat and redundancy from the forums. People will make a new thread on the same topic while a comment in an existing thread serves just as well.

It's a misconception to think multiple same topic threads have impact, since as you yourself point out, they often get closed. And yet, voices still get heard...Zos ignoring community feedback is another topic entirely, however.

Its early Monday morning. That's usually a slow time for the mods.

Don't worry, I'm sure that if its still going when one of them reads this and realizes the main point is complaining about moderator action instead of offering suggestions, they'll close it for violating the forum rules.

In the future, you'd have better luck contacting the mod in a PM to offer feedback or ask for clarification about why a particular thread was closed.

If you actually read the ones they close ut was due to breaking rules. They where rude (some very) or got massively off topic. Or had people simply insulting one another. In the end most ppl on the forums are children and cant discuss something like adults without swearing or insulting.

It makes no sense to have a dozen threads on the same subject. Especially when the OP usually has nothing unique to say. It just clutters up the forums with litter.

If the issue is real it is best to have one focused thread for Zos to look at, if they do, instead of dozens.

The legitimate downside is, you may need to look at the threads on the front page before you make one of your own, but yeah, this is the basic reason.

The only thing that strikes me as a little odd, and this is entirely just a policy issue, is why ZOS doesn't simply merge distinct threads into one another. As far as I know, the forum management software does support this. It can make things a little weird, but it can also help when a distinct thread gets shut down unintentionally.

Agree with you. If some posts speak up enough truth they actually pull a "USA feds operation" on said post. As in the post literally disappears and refreshing the site only returns the classic "not found". This has happened numerous times. So yeah everything is controlled. I ain't no conspiracy freak but its pretty obvious by now

Greetings, to clarify, constructive criticism is always welcome and typically leads to very productive forum conversations. Our forum rules illustrate what kinds of comments or threads are considered nonconstructive and we hope members use them as guidelines when articulating their points. It's perfectly fine to argue a point, as long as the conversation remains civil and constructive. For example, making a statement like "I hate x , y and z changes!" doesn't contribute anything to a conversation or allow for other community members to engage. Whereas the following statement "I hate x , y and z changes, because of the following reasons. Here is how I would change them for the better." provides examples and suggestions that other members of the community can join in on.
