✭This thread doesn't say pvp or pve. No clear explain why NB is bad (with number, comparition, situation...). Just a general "We are ghosts of our former selves." You need a better argument than this if you expect people taking you seriously.

Valykc✭✭✭✭✭I think they still perform really well in PvE but they are a touchy class in PvP, the wrong buff /nerf can really make or break the class. I’m not sure if silence on incap is useful but that seemed like a terrible change, however the relentless focus changes seem pretty nice and easier to use, minus the GCD. I don’t play the class enough because I don’t like the squishiness so I can’t make much of an opinion1 -

I don't believe Night Blades are weak.
It's fair to see they lack the raw power of some of the other classes. But that's by design, as they are suppose to rely more on cunning to win - which is why they have a better tool kit than other classes for setting up ambushes or evading bad situations.
In truth, they were way over-powered before. I would literally watch a single Night Blade take out small armies by themselves. So they needed to be nerfed. It was a bit much.Edited by Jeremy on November 17, 2019 5:02AM3 -

Its a hypothetical question because as soon as this gets posted I know the reply im going to get from the OP though iv nothing against you but when it comes to the forums and class balance as a general topic hardly anything that gets said is truthful.
But here is some truth *Imo* that few will admit the vast majority of people on this forum want their class on top not in the middle and sure as hell not on the bottom regardless if its PvE Or PvP.
It goes for all classes people will outright lie repeatedly and fabricate information they think will justify the changing of the class they play while claiming its weak and desperately in need of buffs or skill reverts all the while simultaneously citing the classes that pose threats to them as being "overpowered or broken" in an attempt to get them nerfed.
So I ask you OP how is your thread any different then the countless other class balance threads where people want the class they like buffed especially with your statement "We are ghosts of our former selves" because literally every other class can make that statement even necromancers.4 -

And the next round of rebalancings will come around soon enough, and then someone else might get nerfed, so...3 -

✭✭✭✭✭Buff nightblade skills or revert to older versionsAny one here remember Elsweyr update and a very convenient term "redundancy removal" ? That update was more focused on nerfing , oh sorry "removing redundancy" from night blade class, rather than making necromancer (new class added with that chapter) to be playable & polished. Even non-nb mains saw that back then, and I wont lie, were kinda annoyed by it.
So, to be fair and consistent, either "remove redundancy" from all classes or add some of the "redundancy" back to NB.
Oh I forgot to mention one, and the most important thing: For many people, it does not matter if NB is super strong or not. The class suffered heavy identity losses this year:
- Fear is no longer a NB "thing" and can be used by all classes (in fact it is superior to NB version of fear) - Turn Evil. Just for comparison, previously if you wanted fear on a non-nb - you had to be a werewolf.
- Ambush "teleport" gap closer was copied to Dual Wield skill line (Flying Blade skill) and once again - it feels kinda overloaded compared to Ambush.
- Grim Focus & its mechanics was borrowed / stolen (whatever you call it) and now Sorcerer have its own version (Bound Armaments skill) that feels kinda more flexible & easier to land.
- Cloak I wont mention, as it was available for others in form of invisibility potion (sadly we dont have negative effect removal pots or streak pots etc.)
So It is not like people asking for buffs are asking to be god-like or something. No. People are just asking for ZOS to have a reason to roll NB. That is it. Too many NB exclusive skills & mechanics became commonly available. Imagine if for example Streak was added to mages guild and called "Teleport" or "Blink". How many people would roll sorc ? I hope you get the idea.
btw. I have been here since game launch (2014) and so far... I do believe this was probably (so far) the worst year in ESO history:
- Balance wise, we had racial rebalance, that was pretty much a big failure (unless you are orc or breton that is) and a giant meta shift, with 30% of ESO race left useless.
- Next we had (as mentioned above) NB nerf fest, caused by crybabies not being able to adapt & counter easiest to counter class. The same people that today call any one that dares to ask for any NB buff - a crybaby (oh the irony is just amazing here right ?).
- Next we had combined Elsweyr & Scalebreker nerfs to Werewolf that made it pretty much useless. Now if you were not using, it is fine, but taking any kind of joy that those who were using it are no longer able to compete and you are somehow you are happy about it... you sick twisted monster [snip]... (note: it does not matter what it is, asking for nerfs, in the long run gives us all less to play with and will soon affect you too, if it had not already).
- Next was amazing DOT meta and Sorc & Templar dominance in PvP (just as a side effect of meta).
- Dragonhold simply felt like a rubber band fixing. I mean what we had this patch was like 50% buff, 60% nerf, 40% buff, 70% nerf... ffs like wtf lol
- Also I highly doubt that DKs are happy about "improving class identity" (throws rocks ?! lol...)
Now add on top of that recent ZOS [snip] ups:
- Lack of Midyear Mayhem.
- Constant server crashes during Witches Festival.
- Disabling new, reworked from scratch group finder, just to keep server online & prevent it from crashing... lol ?
- Recent cancellation of Undaunted event.
- EU server crashing constantly, no matter if there is any event at all, just when more people log in during peak hours.

✭✭✭✭✭Roll dodge for off balance into a heavy attack stun has been working out pretty well for me. (No, I don't use dizzy on a nightblade)
If you wanna play nightblade as you've always played it and can't change, you're gonna have a bad time. That can be said about most classes this update.
Incap/silence thing is stupid as hell, but otherwise I'm fine with how blade is performing. Then again, I'm all for a balanced approach to PvP, and don't typically ask for nerfs or buffs to keep a class I play as top dog.

✭✭Don’t buff nightbladesMagNBs are still pretty good, especially after Twisting Path buff. I see them pretty often in trials where magicka is favored (CR, AS ...) and they perform quite well.
For stamblade I would say that Grim Focus and Surprise Attack revertion wouldn't help. This spec is unpopular because it is very clunky and hard to use and revertion to nerfs won't cut it. Why would you play a stamblade when you can achieve same results with stamsorc or stamplar that are much easier to play.2 -
