honestly I feel that first place doesn't really belong in the same tier as the other three contestants. The other three were more creative and the volendrung furnishing portal on the back of the first place screenshot photo badly clips. plus you can barely see the costume of the first place.
The votes prove what is consensus to win. Congratulations to all. I personally feel Witches Festival should be spooky so the shrek costumes weren't to my taste although I still think that they are great and a cool idea.

Votes prove who has more friends when the general awareness of such things is low. Kinda feels like that's what happened here since you cannot even see this person's costume.
Still, there are some very phenomenal costumes on here. Grats to all...
The voting process and lax rules do make it a little less fun to participate in this particular contest.
Like, if you look at the Shrek picture, it's Photoshopped. Fiona has different specular highlights in her eyes and she isn't casting any sort of shadow on Shrek. She did not exist in the original picture.
I can understand cropping a picture or adjusting the lighting in a screenshot. But when a significant part of the picture is superimposed and not disclosed as such, it feels dishonest.
Unfortunately, the password reset issue happened at the same time my e-mail went down (DNS server issue) so I couldn't reply until now.
OK folks, I'm going to reply to this once and then move on!
This isn't Powerball. This isn't the Publishing Clearinghouse Sweepstakes.
It's video game prizes for a voting contest in a video game.
I don't have a team of forensic photo analyists to tell me if something was doctored.
For the record, there were submissions I eliminated that very clearly didn't follow the rules.
As for the "you can't see the costume" complaint, that was MY BAD, I cropped the image to fit my winner graphics template. Those who voted saw the FULL photo, which you can see here.
Finally, I do the best I can to make our contests fair (it's actually part of what I do for a living, for a major media company).
Prizes included *8* random awards that voting played no part in.
As with any online photo contest, there will be people unhappy with the results, but let's try to keep it in perspective and appreciate the fact that we had nearly 200 entries that, hopefully, people had fun creating and others had fun viewing.
I'm super grateful to all who entered and to Zenimax for providing my guild prizes to award per our contest rules.
If you think you can do it better, in a way that pleases absolutely everyone, Godspeed.
If you have suggestions for how I can do it better next year, feel free to PM me!
Now let's please let the winners enjoy their prizes.
