Oh, and I'm more interested in that antique water tower on top of that building, I'm sure there's an interesting story behind that. Looks to be of late 19th / very early 20th century design.

Did you know that for EVERYTHING you buy, you pay a bit for advertisement and packaging? Because advertising brings customer, who bring even more money?

✭✭✭✭I'm all for advertising and I'm all for encouraging new players into the game. And that billboard looks great.
It should send the right messages to the company. That this is a popular game and it's got a serious future.
That in turn should reinforce the argument for additional investment in backend services - servers, programming, infrastructure etc. Because you don't want your multi-million dollar advertising campaign to coincide with a period of constant server crashes. Cos that makes everyone involved look like morons.
You don't encourage more server investment by removing those activities that develop or promote the game. It's not an either or situation.

✭✭✭✭✭also a reason i have little hope in the future of the TES series; single player games dont produce the revenues persistent service games can...they wont be able to produce the amount of revenues they expect / need...thats why the bigger studios / pubilshers get the fewer single player games they produce...or they try to sneak in some service / online component where they can continue to create money...
I think only smaller to medium sized studios will focus on single player only games in the future...i am also concerned for obsidian - microsoft will want to scale up their success...and thats only possible online...

However, let's step back for a moment and consider this.
NYC has a massive population, and an even more massive "floating" population, with road, foot, and transit traffic (the subway sign is actually for the NYC Metro Transit Authority - and that location brings visitors from many adjacent areas),
Last New Years, Ninja had an entire bar comped for the ball drop; which is not a cheap thing to do, and don't think for one second he paid for it anyway.

To be fair to ZoS, even if they wanted to do this themselves, there's actually just no way to do it without having to dip into a huge debt to do so - so it's probably safe to assume that Amazon/Twitch flipped the bill for this, as they're the only two entities with enough resource to not care if the deal doesn't break even.

It’s all a scam now. This picture should speak volumes to most veterans. Instead of fixing the terrible state the game is in they are attracting more suckers. The issues in this game will NEVER be fixed. Those that think they will please link me a recent post, article, or interview that states otherwise. I’ll be waiting....
