They will probably never do the mayhem pvp event again. Their servers are getting worse every patch, the base mechanics are getting worse every patch, and they've been unable to fix the queue finder for 5 years.

People need to stop putting faith in this company. They're a joke.

I wouldn't agree that the company is a "joke." I would however agree that some drastic changes need to be made, as far as the server, activity finder, pvp and a plethora of other things. I also understand that changes aren't always easy and try to give the benefit in many cases. I think the "core" issues with the game have had ample time to be addressed and corrected though. I keep seeing "throw more money at them" related suggestions. Money isn't the issue, they have more than enough to get these issues corrected. I myself have unsubscribed recently and opted out of the Southern Elsweyr DLC, it was actually a difficult choice, but I'll stand by the decision until I feel my money is being ultilized to improve the game.

I mentioned this in a different thread but ESO should go by the way that FF XIV did, a complete rewrite and relaunch of the servers. I don't want to go into the details of what and how so do a google search on the details of what happened, but recoding the game and releasing it as "A Realm Reborn" type thing seems to be the best thing out there. I also think that the team needs a shakeup, at this point there seems to be more bad than good. In the case of FF XIV the entire team was changed and the game producer was also changed, maybe we need to see that here, just my two cents though.

In fairness, one can love the game while simultaneously accepting the fact that the devs might not be up to the job of managing it. I havent logged in since last patch. For me, it's about horrendous performance and a destruction of class identity, but that is a debate for another day.

That said, I love all things Elder Scrolls. Just started another Skyrim playthrough for the first time since 2012. I still pop in to see what's going on with the forums. I still have hopes that my 17 characters and 9 figure account will get some use down the road. Am I holding my breath? No, but one can wish and dream.

Their developers didnt make the engine that the game runs on. They're far less skilled than the devs that made the engine, and so by attempting to work on it they've just been making things worse every patch. Their code is a mess now and the game is likely past the point of no return unless they contract more skilled developers to fix it.

Additionally the performance issues are directly related to the servers, which as far as we can tell zenimax has no intention of spending money on. Their business model is to focus on cosmetics, housing, and bringing in new players versus keeping veteran players.

They're a joke, plain and simple. It amazes me that people still defend them on here like they haven't been neglecting the same issues for 5 years straight.

What does that have to do with anything? Posting here spreading the word about how terrible the company doesn't mean I have faith in them. Dont get me wrong, I LOVE eso's combat and the pvp is the most rewarding and entertaining out.of any game I've ever played. Unfortunately when the developers didn't make the engine and are now tasked with fixing it, their efforts are literally just compounding the issues without solving anything. It's sad, really.

I'll agree 100%, money definitely isn't the issue with this company. I would say the main focus is advertisement, crown store, and eso+ subs...whatever can make money.

They even have ads up for the game in Times Square, New York City. If you want to know where your money goes, advertisement is the big one. While important, the actual GAME seems to be the second priority. Kind of backwards when you push a product that only shines on the surface.

Just like I said. Their main goals are to bring in new players through a big advertising budget, develop crown store cosmetics and housing items, etc. Their business plan has little regard for the needs and concerns of endgame pvp and pve players.

Yes good strategy.

Spend lots of money to bring in new players. Offer free to play times. Then blatantly show your incompetence by failing an event 3 years in a row, thus losing most of those players.

LFG finder is broken or switched off. That is what most of new players would use as they are new and yet to develop a circle of friends on the same level. It is a wonder that any would join ESO, or stay.

So much this. The game is now officially the Venus Flytrap of MMOs. It’s a business and business is good without regard to the veterans. Things will never get fixed however I am sure a new shiny DLC awaits us

That would be ideal, considering the relative antiquity of the technology available when the game was in it's development stages. Considering the lack of competitive MMORPGs currently out there, they are declining to take advantage of the potentially huge opportunity to rewrite the game in newer code and extend the life of ESO another ten years or so. They wouldn't have to waste as much time trying to (apparently unsucessfully) patch and piece the current code into something that doesn't regularly implode in on itself and drive away frustrated players.

The current business model of cranking out incomplete and untested new content just to snatch those DLC dollars before the new players wise up to the incompetence and lack of direction currently in place is repugnant. Players should be looking forward to updates, not dreading them. This, combined with the removal of any sort of vertical player progression is sending what could potentially be one of the greatest games ever to an early death, and leaving Zenimax with a public relations black eye that will affect their bottom line and future releases for decades to come.
