There are players that struggle with the current overland difficulty...

Is what I keep hearing. Who exactly is struggling with it? Do they pile up 50x enemies on top of themselves?
I personally think we need overland to be a bit more difficult. There is no way someone just spawned onto the world and said "I have the ability to kill absolutely ANYTHING that stands in my way right this very moment at level 1".
Is this not supposed to be an RPG? Not everyone wants to roleplay level 1 GOD and even those who choose to handicap themselves can't seem to stop being level 1 GOD.

Do they not slot skills? Because my character in that video had 0 skills slotted, 0 CP, random gear found on the ground (not looted), no attributes, and all she did was swing.

    Yeah ok.
Look, I'm sorry but I'm not trying to be rude. There is simply 0 (zero) arguments against more difficult overland.

Some players struggle. Thankfully because of that their opinions matter less here.

However, if you're too good then you're elitist garbage.

These forums only tolerate the players who fall into the goldy-locks zone.

No, I'm not even old fashioned.
Don't let these lies weigh down your good ideas.
Even if we ARE old fashioned, wouldn't it be NEW to ask for more difficulty by this point?

I have to say that when I play my other account on my other computer it is kinda hard if i have more than 2 enemies on me at once or even when fighting a delve boss. Different mouse, no ulti because the button doesnt work and i'm too lazy to rebind. Mostly useless skills on my bar. Garbage gear. Broken gear. lots of attribute points to spend. No food. No potions. Out leveled gear (this makes a big difference these days). All conditions that many newer players may be running around with, on top of not knowing much about the game, on top of maybe being super casual and not putting much thought into what they're doing. I know when I was new I didnt even realize there were skills to use until like level 16. I was running whacking things with a sword like it was skyrim. Anyway I can kinda empathize with those who think it's challanging.

Well not really. Level up to 30 and try again with broken out leveled gear. Maybe take on more than one guy next time. Also it should be noted it took you like 20 seconds to kill one dude. You're weren't exactly melting the mobs.

If you are a decent player.. then why would you even care about overland difficulty.. just go do some difficult content & leave the overland to the new players that are learning.

If you absolutely must do overland content but feel it's too easy.. stop wearing set pieces, remove your CP, use white unleveled weapons or your fists & don't heal.

Ah, so it takes NOT being a new player to experience gameplay as if you were a new player.

Most MMOs have mobs with set levels so certain enemies in a starting area can end up being significantly stronger than you which helps add challenge. This game all enemies scale to your level.

I realize there's a lot of making fun of those players going on here, but I think this deserves a serious answer.

    Remember Doshia?

When I see new players coming to the forums with issues in overland content, its usually for quest bosses. K'Tora from Summerset was a big recent offender.

    So what's the problem?
Usually its some combination of the following:
    1. ESO doesn't really teach that hybrids or tanky builds aren't very effective compared to going all magicka or all stamina.
    2. ESO isn't very effective at teaching new players to do DPS rotations over a sustained fight. Just like Doshia was the first boss to teach older players they needed AOEs, some of those bosses are the first real "mechanics check" that new players experience. Essentially, its the first time they really have to learn how to fight or sustain even a short rotation.
    3. ESO's battle leveling is prone to creating unexpected problems for new players who don't know how it works. If you don't keep your weapons and gear up to par, its very easy to wind up weak and squishy at the wrong moment.

Most players who struggle, do so because they don't understand the basic "meta" of ESO Leveling or ESO combat. They try to "play they way they want" only to hit bosses that are slightly more challenging and then realize (as I once did) that their build just isn't very effective.

Given some pointers about to how build effectively for ESO, they do just fine.

To be clear, I think the answer is that ESO has to do a better job of teaching new players - particularly when it comes to how to DPS.

I am also assuming the enemies you claim are too easy happen to mostly be trash tier mobs. I would assume that some world bosses give you some degree of a challenge?

Some people want to explore the game and immerse themselves into the world. It stops being immersive when you're god the entire time and it especially stops being immersive when you gotta pile up enemies to find any type of immersive combat difficulty because at this point you're just farming.
These games are not just for following patterns and a routine but they're also for immersion, especially given that this is a TES game and all the top people at this company talk about is immersion, player choice, and interpretation... but you're always just god.

You, as many other people, seem to have a very narrow way of looking at things.
This is not just a trash mob. This goblin in the video is an uncivilized killer with armor, a faction, a weapon, and a thirst for blood. My character just walked into the island and found a sword.

I've tried it. It turns into a click spam gameplay because that's the least and at the same time the most I can do to keep it fair and immersive.
Sometimes I even just end up using third party software to auto repeat the same click over and over again while I walk around using the keyboard and essentially it's just a very inefficient form of farming instead of me actually immersing myself into the game and taking it for an open and dangerous world.

I doubt JoyToKey breaks the TOS. I was also told it's okay to use and that some people use it when playing with their controller so they can use it during the character selection. The only crazy thing it lets me do that I know of is letting me spam the same button which I did for my click because I worry for my hardware. I also have carpal tunnel thanks to other high APM games I used to play. Imagine wanting to be "that guy" because someone didn't want to *** themselves over because they wanna kill goblins.

I pushed 5 characters through Undaunted simultaneously over a couple of months tanking hundreds of normal PUG groups in the easier dungeons. It is the fastest way to level Undaunted on multiple characters at the same time.

Based on what I saw there, day in day out whole teams with under 10k TOTAL dps, not using any rotation, not doing anything but crutching on pets, barely using any skills, and based on what I see every day playing out in the world where a player (sometimes an astonishingly high CP player) is killed or almost killed by a zombie or too, am pretty sure that a vast majority of the player base does -not- steamroll the normal overland content, and it is not too easy for the player base at large.

If you want a "hard" overland game, one based on a popular, easy single player RPG ain't it, will never be it. In fact, they need to dumb down all but a few group arenas and vet trials more so that the average players can do more of the content in the game.
