Pet and mount placement in house messed up since patch

Since the patch, when I place a mount or pet in my home, its facing direction changes dramatically when I place it. It's rather annoying! Anyone else noticed this?

Was going to reply in a sarcastic manner but changed my mind. Guess we all have our issues with the game, some might seem minor depending on what kind of experience you want from the game

✭✭✭✭✭Yes, this happens for me in gamepad mode. I have to switch to keyboard mode (or use the right keys) to get it to stick properly.
The pet or mount seems to have a “true north” that it snaps to when I place it, regardless of left-right rotation. If I place it 10 degrees off of its “true north,” it will turn those 10 degrees upon being placed. If it’s 180 degrees off, it will flip entirely around to its designated orientation. There’s no way to get it to stop outside of using keyboard mode. If this is a problem on consoles too, I don’t know of any workaround.
I wrote several bug reports in game, since I thought it might have been limited to one pet or house, but it now seems to be all pets/mounts and all houses.
Not a good patch for gamepad users.0 -

✭✭Chiming in here to say that I've been having this issue on XB since the patch. Bought Lucky Cat and proceeded to place my assistants, who insist on facing a certain direction, even if it's facing a wall.
Please fix this on console, since we have no workaround.

ETA: I also noticed this when placing a mount in the stable of Domus Phrasticus. The horse insists on standing at an angle inside the stable, regardless of how many times I try to get him to face forward.Edited by Jayne_Doe on November 11, 2019 4:30PM0 -
Shardaxx✭✭✭✭✭My only advice at the moment is try placing your mounts and pets somewhere else, and if you get lucky and it faces the right way, pick it up and move it to where you orginally wanted it. Orb✭✭I just encountered this on console and seem to have found a work around. Link the assistant with a small object (I used a candle), rotate the linked group, move the linked group so the assistant is exactly where you want it and place. Then go into the retrieve menu and retrieve whatever it was you linked with the assistant. I haven’t tried it with anything other than Ezabi yet, but I imagine it will work with all the things not cooperating right now.3
