Ever since yesterday my notifications now appear as full posts and it's damn annoying.

Previously it would say something like "Lagrue has replied to x topic" and then you could click to go...

Now I'm getting the FULL posts... some of my single notifications are over a page long because they take ALL The quotes in a comment chain into account. I haven't changed anything on my end so I assume this is something they did backend. This also applies to the popups on the side of the screen, but that is slightly less annoying.

https://imgur.com/a/IEvhX66 [Names are omitted]

These people have a 3 page argument to get passed their notification... and since it's a back and forth argument, there's like 20 notifications in a row that are 3 pages long for each damn time one person replies... I have to scroll almost 60 full pages to get passed their argument. When I get 100s of notifications a day it's now super inconvenient to check them.

Speculation: Likely an upstream issue with the forum software they use (Vanilla Forums) if they recently updated it to 3.3 (released on October 28th) or a similar enterprise version, per this commit. It no longer uses the
    Vanilla.Activity.ShowDiscussionBody

configuration option, so it'll always add the story. Further information in this pull request.

Yea checked and it looks like they're using 3.3 - 2019.016, which was released on to Vanilla Cloud on October 31st per these release notes. So likely something they need to prod upstream Vanilla Forums about (maybe @ZOS_GinaBruno can be amazing and prod one of their web devs, dunno if they're on the forums):

I don't know what any of that means, but I pray it helps them fix it :p

Has anyone else noticed another apparent change recently? I have two desktop PCs with these forums bookmarked through Chrome, and can usually be logged in on both quite happily. Currently, however, I'm logged in ok on one but the other won't accept the login, I enter the name and password and it seems to accept them but nothing actually happens and the "sign in" prompt remains.

What I provided in the code tags is just a link to a CSS file (cascading stylesheet, it is what's responsible for making the web page look the way it does, by applying style to various elements / components of the page). In the URL you can see the version 3.3-2019.016-SNAPSHOT.5dcc4572, basically this is:
    • Version: 3.3
    • Release in Vanilla Cloud: 2019.016
    • 5dcc4572 can either be a git (version control system) sha1sum or a suffixed part of a shasum of the file contents of the style-compat.css, which is generated by SCSS from these files. Alongside the rest of the version information, it's useful for ensuring that you always have the latest version of the webpage styling (instead of something being always cached in your browser).

I noticed that I need to disable uBlock Origin specifically on the log-in pages for the forums and ESO support section in order to actually log in. If you have uBlock or any other ad-blocking add-on, I'd temporarily disable it (or disable it for *.elderscrollsonline.com), refresh the page, and try again. This isn't something that is specifically new though.

Thanks, I tried that but unsuccessfully.

I then noticed that on the computer that accepted the forum login the URL was shown as secure, while on the other machine it was not - so I deleted that bookmark and accessed the forums afresh from the ESO website. This resulted in a secure URL and the account was already logged in as on the first computer. Duly bookmarked.

Well I just had another weird forum happening where I had to change my password because apparently an administrator changed it? WTF is going on ZOS.
