And that is why I commend zos for cancelling daemonios.
To be fair to all servers, everything should be cancelled!!
Hopefully they will. Zos is in damage control right now. This has been a complete botch.

Just want to commend zos for pulling the pin on the event because of activity finder issues. I want to plead that the replacement event isn't a huge grind. I loved the fact that the undaunted event was short, 3 tickets per day and relatively easy. I hope the replacement is equally easy. I also would like zos to address the fact that some people were able to get event tickets and Opal pages while others were not. The event dropped at my 2 a.m. I was fast asleep and woke to the shambles. People are advantaged by being on a different time zone. I know some on console got 3 tickets, multiple Opal pages which they are selling for millions of gold. This I feel is the most unfair of the cancellation of the event. Cancel everything, tickets/ pages...EVERYTHING!!

I don't see what's fair about cancelling an event for everyone. It's a panicked reaction, nothing else. You know what would be fair? To give PC-EU the same performance as PC-NA, which apparently didn't have any issues. Now THAT I could get behind.

PC/NA has better performance because we have less concurrent players at peak demand. It also was the middle of a workday for most of the event for us, so we never hit our peak demand before it was cancelled.
So its not like ZOS can give PC/EU whatever magically makes PC/NA work. Its not like that. They'd have to bring in limiting login queues to do that, and no one really wants that either.
Rather, PC/EU seems to be hitting the upper limit of what ZOS' software and hardware can handle, so its a much more intensive solution. Keep in mind that earlier this year, it took ZOS about a month and a half from announcing their server upgrades to actually getting it done, so don't expect a quick plug n play resolution.

As far as I can tell, the vast majority of the issues were experienced on PC. There is an argument therefore that the PC event should have been cancelled, but the console events could have continued, why not?
Console is always behind and neglected for PC. Its frustrating.

Just want to *NOT* commend ZOS for cancelling the event! Were the issues so bad? Are they unfixable and if so should all future events also be cancelled?
I also see the elderscrolls website still advertising the event? Very poorly handled!

Not sure why we are handing out all these congratulations to Zennie ;(

Were the issues so bad? Yes.
Players couldn’t log on. They couldn’t move zone/room/region/dungeon/instance without getting an infinite loading screen or DC’d. The game was not functioning. Cancelling the event was the only practical, sane and fair thing to do.
Are the issues fixable? No idea. Maybe in ZOS’s rewriting of the game due some time next year. Based on their track record this year with Guild Finder and Group Finder? Not a chance.
Should all future events be cancelled? Events clearly work in terms of bringing in players (just go visit the empty city of Rimmen today to see that), so they will continue. I would be stunned if there were any that even stroked the edges of the Group Finder, let alone used it. I would imagine that someone is looking very closely at New Life to ensure that it doesn’t crush the servers like Witches and Undaunted events have. Fool us twice, more fool us, fool us again... your game will be toast.
ZOS should be congratulated for cancelling the event. It was the right thing to do and it took courage to understand that this needed to be done and do it and to do it swiftly. Hopefully they can take the next important steps and acknowledge and understand the root causes of the failure, take responsibility for them and apply themselves to fixing the issues.
It would be really good if, in addition to that, they felt brave enough to communicate what they plan to do and how long this might take to their playing/paying customers.
