Please just cancel the events

Dear ZOS,

I am pretty sure that I am not the only one who gets pretty, let's call it annoyed by the failure of the EU server every single time any event happens.
To be completely honest, I wouldn't mind if you cancel all coming events, if we get a working server for that at the beginning of next year.

It is not like you didn't cancel the Midyear Mayhem (still sad about that) this year due to server issues, so why can't you just do the same for PvE Events? I know there is propably a bigger group of people who would get hit by that, BUT that is exactly the problem. The servers just can't take that many players and that is not a new problem. You obviously knew about that at Midyear Mayhem, so you cancelled it to leave the game playable and really nothing of that comes at surprise anyway.
Every player knows and many players already brought up in the forums, that your servers don't work since YEARS. Also you told us that you would have expanded the capacity of the server, which may be true but it didn't solve the problem, since the number of players grew faster than the servers got expanded.

So I beg you, please cancel any coming events this year and please do a proper expandation of the servers capacity, maybe even install a second one so we have EU 1 and EU 2, where we can choose between both servers with all our characters and make the game playable again.

If the game is unplayable every event, it will just scare people off and there are not just a few dropping ESO because of it and that can't be in your or in our interest.

Sincerely
Nici

They don’t have to do anything. Server issues really drive new item / outfit / pixel sales due to FOMO, regardless of how unplayable the servers were / are / will be.

I totally agree, was just about to make a post with this exact request....

No more events, including the current one, until the servers are upgraded and can handle the load please!

Yes tickets and fancy stuff is nice, but if they come at the cost of something close to reasonably playable performance then Id rather have a game that works!

The amount of downtime, login issues, endless load screens that end in DC and the instability of the game overall especially during events, makes me want to just find another game to play during these periods, unless you can pull yourself together and...

    GET THOSE SERVERS UPGRADED ASAP!!!

I love ESO, its a fantastic game, but this is just beyond frustrating :(

As a long time player, I am way past any "Fear Of Missing Out". I just want to be able to play the game, and I don't care one bit if I get zero tickets and no fancy loot boxes for the rest of the life of the game. Cancel the event, cater to whatever amount of patient players you still have, stop trying to lure more people in with promises you obviously can't keep, and get your act together. You are just making all your customers upset, new and old players alike, and you will chase away even old-timers like me if you keep it up.

I am a very patient person, but I'm getting totally fed up with this.

I agree. Now I am on PC NA which in my experience works fine with only occasional annoyances (which night not even be server issues, Idk) and I enjoy the events and look forward to having my snow Indrik BUT the game needs to be playable for everyone, most certainly all paying customers! I would not mind waiting a few months so that everyone could enjoy the events as they are meant to be. Problems happen, but if the PC EU server is going down every single time, that seems really unacceptable. :(

So, cancel them on PC EU only, then, until they fix the server.

there is absolutely no relation between more or no more events and server stability. them removing events doesn't mean at all they would fix the server stability issue, we would only end up with no events and no stability.

That doesn’t seem right. :/ Making the game playable for everyone ought to be the first priority! Then we could all enjoy fun events and rewards. :)

The point is that they need to fix the PC EU server first and that should be a priority for ZOS — how could it not be when the game regularly becomes unplayable for so many people? :( And no, cancelling all events indefinitely would be a crap “solution” I agree.

Correlation does not imply causation, but considering the fact that the login server seems to choke on heavy load, something that ZoS has been openly admitting to in their very sparse communication about the issues, not hosting an event that encourages unusually large amounts of players to log in would be a way of mitigating the negative effects of the instability.

Of course, fixing the root of the problem by making the server keep up with high load would be the right solution, but I am not hoping for that to happen any time soon.

Well, obviously I agree that would be the ideal scenario.

However, I am assuming that isn't currently possible, because here we are, yet again...

No, but it would mean that there wouldn't be this sudden rush of people logging on, to do the event and causing the game to become totally inaccessible.

I would take no events, or delayed events, over not being able to access the game, at all.

They either need to upgrade the EU server or split it into two servers. This is getting really annoying for me now and i have far more patience with this than most people. Im tired of being punished because the EU server keeps failing and i dont even play on EU.

Events are what keep this game entertaining after you reach end game. You suggestion is silly and doesnt solve the problem.

Playing with friends is what keeps me entertained in this game. Events are a nice extra, but they are by no means essential to my enjoyment. If events block us from playing, I don't see why they would be entertaining to anyone.

lmao, do you even IT bro. New hardware ain't solving diddly squat, the problem is in the software. The game is literally a cesspool of rotten spaghetti code that has just been added to over the years and never sorted out. For them to actually fix all this they'd need to completely rewrite tons of the core game just so that it doesn't break every time they add something new.

    YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!

A lot of us dread these events for a number of reasons
    - Inevitable poor performance on the server
    - They're constant, like all the time, jeez, just ease up
    - They are not fun and are just a grind

Just give it a rest for a while Zos, please.

PC/EU breaks specifically because their server can't handle high demand from concurrent players.

Events pretty much guarantee high demand.

Last year didn't have PC/EU operating at close to the peak number of concurrent players that the servers can handle.

(Last year's Undaunted event was a mess with a broken groupfinder, but none of the servers went into full blown meltdown an hour into the event.)

because events are the only thing most people even log in for on the pve side until the next chapter drops ;-)

If there is no event or new content, i might log in today or i might not. It might be 2 or 3 days before i log in and i might only play for 30-60 minutes. I might play for a couple of hours this week or play for several hours.

If there is an event or chapter, my interest goes up. I try harder to log in and spend more time in the game. I will log in most days during the event at least and will play from an hour up to a few hours per login.

Southern Elsweyr, for example was quite a disappointment. It felt like Northern Elsweyr with more vegetation. Outside of the main quest, it didnt have a lot to offer. I feel like a lot of energy was spent on something that gave very little return.

The undaunted even was already unimpressive for me. The blue box items are garbage and its not worth grinding dungeons for them. So i would have spent most of my weekend doing other things anyway and waiting for a better event.
