Decline of PvP

A lot of people like to say "PvP is fine" people will argue that they dont see a decline in the population. To all of those people i would like them to explain this

are you serious? are you aware there is a pve event going on right now as well as multiple people having issues logging in?

In terms of sheer number EU outranks NA by far. The PvP Population gets smaller yes, but on EU it is still at 3 Bars per alliance at least on the 2 main campaigns. Laatvulon sadly has just 1- sometimes 2 bars.

During what primetime did you make the screenshot? Primetime?

Or just after the undaunted event launch? Then I guess everyone is farming those rare style pages because they might sell for a lot of money soon.

And, isn't PC EU the more populated server?

it's 12:00 on a weekday. no one is going to be playing right now unless they are a NEET, have weird work/school hours or have the day off.

Well if you took that screenshot in the middle of the night, it says absolutely nothing. If you took it during prime time, then it's bad. So maybe you can start the explaining by stating at which time that screenshot was taken?

Did my first Cyrodiil raid in 2 years with the emp and some old friends last night and it seemed pretty high pop (PC NA Kaal).

This is the thing people always ask "WaS iT PrImE TiMe?"

First off who's prime time? US east? US west? Australia??? People who work night jobs and play during the day? People who go to school or work during the day and play at night?

3 years ago it didn't really matter what time you logged on, there were bars

We need to ask ZeniMax to make another PvP DLC. We havnt seen one since IC. End the three banner war and let’s move forward to something better. Clearly they can’t fix the performance issues in that zone. Cyrodiil is old dead content so let’s ask them for a new campaign with lower population caps. New players would be interested in PvP again and old players would come back to check out the new DLC.

Well, for me personally CST USA, I remember the population being dead during the day 3 years ago. We had some Japanese guilds first thing the morning doing stuff and then all day it would be dead until the evening.

PVP dying situation is not limited to lags or endless loading screens but also rewards,

Getting something same every campaign is also not very encouraging

Pictorial squabbling aside, I see a substantial decline in population largely due to persistent performance issues.

Its hard to stick with PVP in a game where:
BG queues haven't worked well for over 6 months
BG MMR has never addressed the premade/random disparity
Cyrodiil has crippling lag, is prone to crashing in the large scale fights its designed for, and persistent bugs like "stuck in combat."

Unfortunately, low population becomes the sort of problem that creates more problems. Cyrodiil at low pop turns uncompetitive. BGs at low pop means fighting the same players over and over again,

I started playing on PC/NA Haderus, where my EP guild had good fights with the DC and AD guilds on the campaign on a regular basis. Since that point, performance has just gotten worse and worse and the regular PVP population has gotten smaller.

We used to have 10 campaigns, with higher populations and many of them busy at all hours.

We now have 1 busy campaign, and people think no daytime population is normal because it's not prime time.

The performance has been consistently horrendous. It's driven out so many players, only the hardcore ones remains with the occasional newbie who gets murdered in 5 seconds.

Playing in the morning, all I see are 5-stars.

PvP has always had its ebbs and flows. There does seem to be a decrease in population where it concerns battlegrounds. But that's probably due to frustration over the queue in the activity finder, which has been messing up a lot lately.

Far as Cyrodil (no CP) I haven't noticed much difference. Same as usual. Mostly dead during the day - but picks up some steam in the evening. So I haven't noticed any significant differences there.

Honestly though, PvP is in the best shape I've seen it in since I started doing it, at least from a game play perspective. Offensive, Defensive, and Healing builds seem to be manageable now. So I think the combat team has done a good job, especially considering the horrid mess things had turned into. They had a lot on their table to deal with.
