There are none to compare eso to. The level of nerdiness I can get myself into, is bar none to other games. Various landscapes, the storytelling, the history. It’s thrilling, beautiful, consuming.

But the love I have for that universe doesn’t seem to match what is being done to it. Choices being made that seem in direct opposition to the lore. The whole server-woopsies. The low level of communication, explanation, what the plans are to fix it. That bugs me.

ESO has a huge dedicated fan base. Some of us have been here for a decade. That is something rare, to have a name for oneself, to be able to create something that keeps lighting that fire in us. It seems as if that degree of nerdiness no longer is appreciated, sometimes it seems as if Nirn is about to be just another of those fast-in-fast-out kind of places. We have that, in massive examples. ESO tickles just the right spot, you know.

I’m not going anywhere. Where should I go? But something seems not quite right..

It's extremely hard to find the motivation to play the game. I don't mind a grind but every. single, thing, in this game is a tedious grind and I only have a few hours out of the day to play. It feels more like work than gaming. And then when it comes to the quests, I don't have to read anything. I can just run through smashing the A button to get through the dialogue. It's filler. I can completely shut my brain off and just smash A through the dialogue and follow the cursors to the objectives. I don't have to think at all. it's mindless grinding and cursor chasing. :(

Happy and love the game. They really need to update PVP IMO. The battleground zone needs to be updated. PVP healing needs to be updated - currently OP (healers with resto staff should be the primary source).

There is a lot I am enjoying right now. Witches Festival, levelling a new stam Templar, the new dragon fights, way more people looking to do trials, arenas and dungeons, a new DLC to explore when I get the time. Lots of friends online having a good time.

The thing that feels tiresome is that it feels like ZOS still can’t get a grip on their performance issues and really can’t be arsed to put money/effort into sorting out PC EU. You could repost ZOS’s two grovelling mea culpas from 12 and 8 months ago now word for word because nothing has changed. They still haven’t lived up to any of the promises they made then.

Pretty much I’m in love with the series as a whole and did have a great time in the beginning but now it’s just a mess. Starting to believe Elder Scrolls can’t be a real MMO. This series is know for near endless choices and play styles while ESO has tons of sets most are just beyond subpar.

The lore is a double edged sword in this game. In some areas it shades a welcomed light to old/forgotten points in the lore, building on key characters from other games and in other part whole storylines kill the lore.
Black Marsh is a deadly land where few non Argonians dare to go a land covered in myth and mystery... the marsh is full of non Argonians and everyone just what forgot that it’s been explored heavily.
Dragons have been gone for so long people believed they were just a myth dragons are seen and fought by whole armies. On and on it goes and every new thing they add good or bad is canon. So much happens for cool point even if it makes no sense.
Players love this Argonians sexy times book let’s add it here I mean it will not be written for about a 1000 more years but that’s fine right?

I'm in a holding pattern with the game. I've adjusted to all the recent combat changes fairly well, but I'm reluctant to build for any endgame content other than PVP for the moment. My hope is we'll see what the actual combat direction is soon, but I'm not going to build for trials or vet dlc until it's done.

I'm not fond of the direction of monetization, but unfortunately that is seeping into single player titles now as well. It could be the new standard and us old gamers will just have to live with it, idk...

I haven't experienced nearly the performance issues that some have, but I'd like to see the game more stable especially post patches.

I've a love hate relationship with pvp
I'm also missing the new and unknown, even a grind without getting too carried away.
I predict we wont see that until there are more mmo's on the market, competitive ones that is.
Then we'll get baited back by some actual character progression. Maybe I'm expecting too much even thinking that.
..even a new campaign map..I think too much

25-30 years ago I'd have been right with you. But in this day and age, you'd need to change the midset of the younger adult/teen generation. I've stood on picket lines and fought with corporations, but I'll tell you this, a product or service stops making money, that product or service just goes away. Nothing is permanent anymore.

They have simply made too many unecessary changes over time, most in which I could adapt to with no problem, but now?

It's the straw that breaks the camels back. So many unecessary changes, the wrong things being addressed constantly, or ignored - it stacks up, and finally one more bad thing happens and we just cant deal with how ridiculous it is anymore.

I only last played to see how I felt about the changes. I couldn't find any fun in it; because a lot of players have disappeared, too. So, it's like "Why Play This Anymore? Why make a new toon or grind and improve gear? What am I really going to do with it, honestly?"

All the game modes are worse than ever before. I'm just saying, this game was in bad shape far before any of the last 10 patches or more but nothing has been done about it. Instead, your patience, your time, and/or money spent has all been jeapordized. We get the most unecessary changes. It's just so sloppy and iritating.

There just comes a point, where eventually you lose motivation and interest to play. It can be for many reasons. Most of us share the exact similar ones though. For me?

Unhappy, disappointed, left for another game:

    1. That actually works whenever I want to log in and play (no downtime, no emergency downtime, no "unable to login..." or "check your internet connection" after every major update)
    2. That doesn't turn combat system upside down every few months. And no, I do not consider this approach boring.
    3. That has a lot of other compelling things, such as dynamic overworld events, instanced and immersive storytelling with actual cutscenes, variety of mounts that each do their own thing, and character classes that are distinct and very different from one another.

The first two things were a real deal breaker for me, no matter how much I love Elder Scrolls universe. There is still hope for ESO but right now, I'm sitting this mess out.

I really enjoy some content, and stay out of what I do not like (hard mode things like trials, DLC dungeons, PVP, Battlegrounds, Maelstrom Arena - I am not ashamed of having potato reflexes).

The quests and exploration are great, ingame books are a joy to read, normal non-DLC dungeons are fun - I tend to focus on these.

Performance, the ping pong nerf/buff game, reworking of identifying class skills to make them less class identifying in the attempt to better class identity.

The lack of communication on the official forums regardless of the issues. The constant fixes that seem to make everything worse.

The lackadaisical attitude toward fixing the performance issues.
Oh we got it slated for next yr, even though it's probably the biggest pain point for the majority of disgruntled players and one of the biggest reasons for those people quit.
Seems they'd be more concerned then fixing it next year.

As a non-competitive solo/cooperative PvEer on PC EU (main) and NA (secondary) servers, I'm very happy with the state of the game in terms of gameplay. I don't personally have any significant performance issues on either server and on PC EU in recent months have only had one disconnection, one login queue, and one time when the login failed for everyone including me. I do recognise, however, that there are performance issues affecting some others especially dependent on playstyle such as PvP and trials etc, as well as concurrent population levels, so hopefully those will be fixed before long. If those issues were resolved, and the game had a decent trading system open to all then it would be absolutely great!

Done with this game (started pre-IC / Craglorn times) until drastic gameplay changes come and until they pick their *** up in the performance department.
Not really a person that plays an MMORPG solely to flex on other ppl with how much money I spent on cosmetics (e.g. Housing, Costumes, Mounts from Crown Crates, the list goes on...).
Also one half ass trial, a zone with a handful of quests, two dungeons and miniscule gameplay changes each year aint enough content to keep me constantly interrested to play.
And If the game ever becomes worth playing again, Id have nothing to do or grind for, because itemization and character progression are an absolute joke in this game.

For a quest dlc, the quests are horrible, tedious, bad designed, it can win the worst quest design of all games reward.
Not to mention the lag, dcs and numerous serious bugs that plague the game and never get fixed.
Plus the horrible low iq class and combat changes the whole year.
    It’s a disappointment.
All I can say is ZOS probably been lazy this year, or only 1 or 2 people working to get this dlc out. The 17mil dragon fight at the ending, I mean just because people complain quest boss too easy does not mean simply adding more boss health and making more adds to make the fight drag on forever. Bad designed.

Switch "gameplay changes" to "serious performance improvements" (yes I'm PC/EU why are you asking) then this is mr. I overall like the game, I enjiy the story, the zones and group content as well, but ye gawds the performance need some serious investment. That is my only major gripe with the game at the moment.
