How are you making gold?

There are many ways to make gold in the game. We all have our ways, whether it is by farming resources, selling items in guild stores or crafting/selling the crafted items.

What do you prefer and how much time you spend doing it?

Mostly I do daily writs on everyone, plus selling to vendors whatever I don't need or want to decon.

Flipping btw works just fine; what you've been seeing about it is people posting who WANT it changed to bind on purchase from the traders.

I mainly sell everything I can find if it has a good prize but also since I play PvP alot, I invest AP in Golden Jewelry or Dawn Prism as well as Hakeijo and sell it

Flipping is buying items that are cheap in larger quantities and reselling them for a higher price. The same applies to the items that are much more expansive but in singular quantity and reposting them for much higher prices.

Given I don't play video games to do chores, I don't "farm" (though you might see me doing actual farming/gardening to grow actual food in the real world). I play the game normally and sell things here and there that I don't use, want, or need. Like alchemy ingredients. Because I don't use potions.

But why would I sell the refined materials? I use them for the next writs and my own crafting.

I do a mixture of things; writs every day as people have already mentioned (currently doing on 14 characters). I sell things I acquire from playing (whether it's from the writ rewards or exploration or dungeon motif drops) if I or my friends don't need them, etc. I don't specifically farm anything, the gold is just a byproduct of what I'm already doing.

The poll has bad targeted questions, you can see it by the sheer amount of people who chose "Other".

Anyway I do several of the suggested ways, including selling motifs, materials, flipping and - most importantly - playing the markets swings.

With 10 minutes of effort a week, here's a screenshot (taken from a video in my Youtube channel) that shows my money results. It's not the best, but it affords me a lot of stuff.

Primarily crafting writs. When I have the good fortune of finding a motif, recipe or other item that I don’t need for myself I sell it, but I don’t farm them.

And yes, of course you can flip items, but I haven’t found it worthwhile to do in ESO with the guild trader system. To much time and investment for me when I want to be playing the game! :)

    Motif Farming.
Farming "hard" DLC hm like Moon hunter, March oif sacrifice, Fraustvolt, Malatar, etc.. And then sell motif.
I do wrist with 6 char almost all day and sell Master Wrist too.

I've do a lot of thieving at start, it's a good way to start and it's fun.
I've do lot of flipping item in my other mmorpg but didn't have time anymore for this.

Daily writs on all characters... it's like 4600 gold or something a piece... takes about an hour to do 10 with precrafted potions and foods. Walk away with 40,000+ a day.

That of course nets all kinds of yellow mats from the crates, then master writs which you can use to buy stuff to then vendor, stuff that will always get some interest like crafting tables.

Then with the surveys you get, you get ~80% of your material investments back, plus any gold items you got refining.

Truly being crafter is a great way to make solid and consistent profit. Most people do not need access to millions of gold at one time, so this profit scheme is a great way to stay wealthy, even if it's not a fast track to becoming rich.

I can net anywhere from 1.5 to 2 million gold a month just using all this combo above.

I absolutely agree that the poll options could be worded better, but a lot of people are choosing "other" when really they fit one of the categories already listed.

As an example: to me, fishing and then selling perfect roe falls under farming materials. It's not the same as running around and picking flowers, but we use the term "farming" to reference the gear we want to obtain from content, right? So therefore fishing to obtain perfect roe is farming just the same. It doesn't need its own category.

Most of what I make is from crafting writs 5K gold and at least 10K worth of materials from the writ and hireling mail. The rest is from turning in other quests, selling pieces of gear and selling motif pages at the right time. I get a lot of those during various events and sell them much later, after the glut passes. Ex. I've managed to sell my Dremora Legs pages from last year in September to early October this year for around 250K a piece; chests, bows and swords sold quite well too 60-80K. Now I've restocked on those and I will sell them next year, before they drop again.
